The Omni ecosystem, developed and managed by the National Software Corporation, is an integral part of daily life in the Novella Islands. Functioning as a comprehensive "super-app" platform and encompassing a wide array of services, the ecosystem includes a variety of individual applets which together facilitate everything from access to government services and identity verification to social networking, media consumption, retail, and financial transactions.
Since its initial release in 2002 for desktop systems, followed by its mobile counterpart in 2006, Omni has rapidly evolved to become inseparable from the technological and social fabric of the Novella Islands. The ecosystem's sub-applications integrate to provide a cohesive experience for the user, and together they have been instrumental in driving the digitalisation of the Novella Islands' society and economy, fostering an environment of innovation anchored by the state's commitment to technological advancement.
The Omni ecosystem operates exclusively on GatewayOS, the proprietary software platform also created by the National Software Corporation. As of 2022, Omni has been installed on over 100 million active devices.
