Holokovoy, officially the Federative Republic of Holokovoy (Holhar: Uzaednan'Egregornostvar'n'Holokovoy), commonly called Holharhyu by natives, is a landlocked country located in western Hesperidia, situated primarily in the norther portion of the Vale of the Kovoy. Holokovoy has about 17,5 million inhabitants. Vladekovor is enshrined in the constitution as the "governing capital" and houses the executive, with Rava'nad'Ruga being the seat of the legislature, and Galmanzar the seat of the judiciary, while Luciyanovharad is the largest city and cultural capital. The towns of Murathyu and Nad'Belzagh are recognised as "settlements with cultural-historical importance" and possess a degree of political autonomy equal to the others.
Its namesake, the Vadilar's second-longest river, the Kovoy, rises in Greguria's Tchrad Krg and flows south, with half of its length being in Holokovoy. The Gregurian Mountains line the country's northern border, while the Yusuv and Vrhovar Ranges demarcate its border with Onrovana.
Settlement in what is now Holokovoy began in the Paleolithic, with Holokovars and Proto-Holokovars inhabiting the region continuously since then. In the early 1st Century, the collection of tribes living there were subjugated by the Onrovan Empire, only to regain independence in -173. Written records attest to the formation of the Exarchate of the Holhars (Holhar: Holharan'Egzarhat), its expansion and consolidation in the central Vadilar under the Honstantan dynasty, as well as its eventually conquest by the Kankar Khaganate in -22. The modern state of Holokovoy - with the Luciyanic branch of the Second Creed as its state religion and the ot'Damyanozvyah dynasty at its helm - was reformed in the year 70, with the conclusion of the Holokovan Struggle, its modern borders being essentially solidified after victory in the Battle of Galmanzar. The end of the 3rd Century would see relations between the monarchy and populace errode, culminating in the Holokovan Revolution and subsequent dictatorship of Iozias Lazar Hostozvyah. A combination of internal instability, foreign influence, and the War of '45 made Holokovoy drift towards the Shtrak bloc, joining the Pact of Iraklia in 147, before the fall of the dictatorship in 168 would lead it to withdraw. After the establishment of its new constitution in 170, the country began a transition towards liberal democracy.
