Prince Bahman of Zargothrax (born 11 January 2001) is the eldest son of King Shapur XIV, and Crown Prince of Zargothrax. Since his father's ascension to the throne when Bahman was 19, he has played a large role in the governance of the country due to his father's relative disinterest in government.
Early life and education
Bahman was born in January 2001 as the firstborn son of Prince Shapur and Princess Yasmina. He was raised in the Royal Palace of Zargothrax where his family lived alongside his grandfather, King Navid III, and his three aunts. He was educated by private tutors in the palace. He had intended to study history at university, but after the death of his grandfather, he remained at home to assist his father in the governance of the country.
Crown Prince
After the death of his grandfather in 2020, Bahman's father Shapur took the throne; however he had little interest in governance and regularly skipped meetings of the King's Council. With his father spending most of his time in the Palace basement conducting various scientific experiments, Bahman took a very active role in the running of the country; still an absolute monarchy. Bahman has therefore been the de facto ruler of Zargothrax since the age of nineteen.
Prince Bahman has been active in raising funds for disaster relief following extreme weather in the south of Zargothrax. He has also attended a number of diplomatic events on behalf of his father, and is better-known in international diplomacy than his father, who has not left the country since before his ascension to the throne.
