On the dissolution of the Senate of the Novella Islands The Federal Parliament of the Novella Islands has passed a proposal for an alteration of the Constitution, entitled the Constitution of the Social Republic of the Novella Islands (Dissolution of the Senate and Other Related Matters) Amendment Act 2024. The purpose of this act is to: "[...] alter the Constitution so as to permanently dissolve the Senate of the Novella Islands, and in doing so, to reform the legislature as a unicameral body. This reformed body, the National Assembly of the Novella Islands, is to be representative of the political mandate of the sum of all citizens, where each and every individual's vote is equal in weight to any and all others."
