The Razgriz-Class of Submarines (Ermizi: U-Boot Razgriz-Klasse) were a series of large sized, diesel powered submarine aircraft carriers utilized by the Royal Legionite Navy from 1948-1972. They were able to carry six Radon G-49 Gremlin float-plane aircraft underwater to their destinations. They were designed to surface, launch their planes, then quickly dive again before they were discovered. They also carried torpedoes for close-range combat.

The Razgriz Class was designed with the range to travel anywhere in the world and return. A fleet of 142 boats was planned in 1948, of which a total of 87 being completed by the onset of the Great War

Inception

The Razgriz-class was the brainchild of Admiral Arthur Thorgensen, head of the Submarine wing of the Royal Navy. In November 1941, he submitted a proposal to Supreme Admiral Erich Helsting, head of the Legionite Naval Forces at the time. Helsting, interested with the idea, lobbied several shipbuilding companies to come up with designs. By September 1942, three designs were shortlisted by the Admiralty, with Jasfren Shipyard's design ultimately winning out.
