The 2020 International Democratic Union Film Festival was held in July of 2020, in Hanshui, Laeral, for the purpose of honoring IDU cinema. During the festival, delegations from eleven nations within the IDU voted on winners in five categories. Films were screened in cinemas throughout Hanshui, before being voted on. Libertas Omnium Maximus won in the category of 'Best New IDU Film' with its submission 'Sawdust', but Kerlile became the first country in the history of the Festival to receive two awards: "Best Classic IDU Film" for "Swirls of Magic" and "Best Documentary/Non-Fiction Film" for "The Council of Reform." The 2020 IDU Film Festival was noteworthy as having more entrants than any previous iteration of the festival, as well as being the first instance that ranked-choice voting was used to determine winners of each festival. Winners of each category are printed in bold, while the number of first-preference votes received are listed following each entry.
