Invasiveness

The rapid barbed vine is highly completive, and due to that the Wosteaquean Department of Agriculture has classified it as invasive. Due to this classification the species is only permitted to grow on Spavennato eyot with any other areas that have found to house the vine are to be removed and disposed of. Since 1960 a containment camera system has been set up by the Department of Agriculture to insure that any unwanted growth of the vine does not happen.

There have been 147 instances since 1850 that the vine has grown into other areas of the Fil Humide Bog. Below is a table of major instances.

Year Area km2 Destruction
1877 29 km2 Pruning & incineration
1884 54 km2 Pruning & incineration
1898 31 km2 Pruning & incineration
1906 29 km2 Pruning & incineration
1924 322 km2 Pruning & incineration
