The Communist Party is a far-left political party in Lauchenoiria which ruled the country from 1952 until 1993 through an authoritarian regime, and led the country still from 1993 until 2014 following democratic elections. The party is currently led by Élia Agramunt.
History
Foundation & pre-revolution
1952 Revolution
One-party state
Following the revolution, the Communist Party outlawed all other parties until 1993 (with the exception of Left Alliance, which was legalised in 1987). During this time period, the Party ruled Lauchenoiria, turning the country into a communist autocracy. The position of Prime Minister was stripped of power, and the President was given most of the power in the country. The Parliament continued its existence, but as a rubber-stamp body for the President. The federal structure of the country was abolished until 1993, with the country being ruled as a unitary state.
