Secadualism is a duotheistic religion originating in Western Hesperida. Secadualists worship two deities, known as Mascalin and Feminea, the embodiment of masculinity and femininity respectively.

The religion is common in Lauchenoiria however is not limited to that area. A variant, known as Kerlian Singularist Secadualism, is the state religion and largest faith of the nation of Kerlile.

Beliefs[edit | edit source]

Secadualists of all denominations believe in the existence of two deities, Mascalin and Feminea (although Kerlian Singularists only worship the latter). The God and Goddess are the embodiment of masculinity and femininity, and humans were created in their images. At the dawn of humanity, the two deities were at peace, and humanity living in the Realm of Life had contact with the Realm of the Divine (also known as the Realm of Death).

Both deities had extra-dimensional temples which connected the two Realms, known as the Versium and the Kerlium. In this period, know as the Time of Beginning, both deities took mortal lovers, producing demigods. However, after Feminea spurned Mascalin to spend more time with her mortal lover of the day, Mascalin became enraged and destroyed the Kerlium, beginning the First War of the Gods, the war that began all wars in both Realms.

Secadualists believe that mortals are comprised of three essences; the body, the mind and the soul. The body inhabits the realm of Life and the soul the realm of the Divine, whereas the mind bridges these. Upon death of the body, the mind is transported to join the soul in the realm of the Divine. For an individual to truly die, they must die the three deaths - first death of the body, then death of the mind, and finally death of the soul.

Kerlian Singularist beliefs[edit | edit source]

Kerlian Singularist teachings diverge from orthodox teachings on what happened during and after the First War. Singularists believe that after destroying the Kerlium, Mascalin took his revenge on all mortals made in Feminea's image, women and girls. He gave men the tools to oppress women, created menstruation so that women would suffer, and granted men power by aiding them in their mortal wars, before Feminea could destroy the Versium and cut off the last remaining link between the Realms to prevent any further meddling.
