The Democratic Times News Service is an independent, not-for-profit international news agency. It styles itself as the "first source for unbiased, independent journalism in the IDU" and prides itself on not being under the control of any national government or national news service. It operates as a cooperative and provides its coverage to subscribing media outlets throughout the IDU. Its reporters are often the first to break news from places where other reporters are not able to operate, and the more authoritarian nations within the IDU often try to deny it access. The official motto of the DTNS is "Transparency, Accuracy and Accountability for All."
