Flags of Gladysynthia

1467 B.G.E. - 1181 B.G.E.

The first flag of the Gladysynthian Empire displayed a rectangle in each of the four corners (two red, two black) to represent the union of the former Four Kingdoms of Gladysynthia under the new Empire.

1181 B.G.E. - 712 B.G.E.

The second version of the flag abandoned the remembrance of the Four Kingdoms in favor of a new imperial flag. The designers decided the mix of one vertical stripe and three horizontal would be a nice touch. They were right.

712 B.G.E. - 402 B.G.E.

The third version of the flag was adopted just before the height of the Empire. The checkered pattern was used to represent the many nations and great area of land conquered by the Empire over its history.

402 B.G.E. - 110 B.G.E.

The final flag used by the Empire was adopted while tensions heightened just before the beginning of the Gladysynthian Provincial War. Its main purpose was to foster unity among the Loyalists who fought to keep the Empire alive.

2014 - Present

The current Gladysynthian flag was adopted on 18 May, 2014, after Tetrazoa rejoined the Gladysynthian union after nearly 25 years of autonomy. There are many symbols evident in this flag. First of all, the four green triangles that mark the outline of the middle yellow diamond represent the four kingdoms that prospered during the Second Age of Gladysynthian history. The seven stars in the center of the flag represent each of the seven provinces. Lastly, the four-sided star in the top left corner represents the capital city of Mönusÿnthys.

Current flag of the United Provinces of Gladysynthia adopted in 2014 after Tetrazoa rejoined the union as the seventh province.
