The territory declared it's independence from Libertas Omnium Maximus on July 18th, 1991. Libertas Omnium Maximus attempted to suppress the revolt with military force resulting in an all out conflict known as the 1991 Bjeorg Conflict, also known as the Vöe Bay Conflict. Etymology
The Word "Bjeorg", pronounced: Bee-your-guh is derived from a Valahandian term. "Eit Cęum Bjeorg Semis" meaning: "An enlightened leap forward." That is what Bjeorg set out to be, An enlightened nation beyond Libertas Omnium Maximus.
History
In 1956, Bishop Luke of Bjørg (having no affiliation with Libertas Omnium Maximus's 2016-present president, Lucas Brown), minister presiding over the religious diocese in the Maximusian principality of Bjørg, called for a referendum of separation. It was quickly pointed out that he had neither the authority, nor the political capital to do so.
