An Eirian Passport (Eirian: Paspōrte dei Eiria) is the primary identity and travel document for Eirian citizens. Issued by the Ministry of Diplomacy's Office of Document Services (a part of the Department of Citizenship and Immigration), the document is the strongest proof of identity for Eirian citizens for government, business, and travel purposes. Outside of domestic benefits, holders of the passport also gain the right to live, work, and study within the Union of Caxcanan States (currently Huenya, Auria, Milintica, and Manabi Rive).
Physical Specifications
All Eirian passports are 35x45 mm, with the phrases "Republik Dei Eiria" (Republic of Eiria) and "Unija dei Valsei Kaškanacasei" (Union of Caxcanan States) emblazoned above and below a four-pointed star ("Časvoile" in Eirian). Below the latter line of text, the document's label is placed above a symbol that signals the passport's biometric and machine-readable identification capabilities.
On the inside, at least the first three pages are full of the holder's personal information (repeated in Eirian, English, and Huenyan/Paora), with optional pages in French, Latvian, and Terval available upon request. These pages are also machine-readable for convenience at ports of entry. The next page contains a seal of endorsement from the Ministry of Diplomacy and, if the bearer has felony convictions on their record, a list of these crimes and sentences.
Following these pages are 24 (44 for frequent travelers) pages for visas and entry stamps,
Types and Eligibility
Standard
The Standard Citizen's Passport is the most commonly issued passport, with the only requirements for application being having Eirian citizenship and not serving an active criminal sentence. The cover is navy blue with silver lettering. Unless voided or damaged, the passport remains valid for ten years after issuance.
Diplomatic
The Eirian Diplomatic Passport is the teal and silver identity document issued to tenured officers of the Eirian Foreign Service. Instead of just "Paspōrte," it is labeled "Paspōrte de Diplomajē" ("Diplomat's Passport"), and is generally valid for ten years (or until the end of the diplomat's posting in a particular nation). While diplomats may use the passport to enter any nation that any Eirian citizen may enter, it is also inscribed with the particular mission and nation that the holder is assigned to.
Service
With a red cover and silver lettering, the Eirian Service Passport is issued to either high-ranking members of the Eirian Government who wish to travel abroad on short trips or members of diplomatic support staff who are stationed at Eirian diplomatic missions for shorter terms than tenured diplomats. At maximum, they are valid for five years, but can be issued for shorter durations.
Emergency
The Eirian Emergency Passport is issued to Eirian citizens who are in desperate need of a passport quickly (due to losing their passport while traveling, a time-sensitive event, etc). It has a forest green cover is the only Eirian identity document with gold lettering. It is usually valid for one year after issuance.
Version for Non-Citizen Residents
The Eirian Non-Citizen Identity Document is the primary proof of identity for lawful non-citizen residents living in Eiria. While the document may be used for entry to Eiria, its validity abroad is dubious, and travelers are advised by the Ministry of Diplomacy to use the passport of their country of origin (if possible). The document also does not give the right to abode in UCS nations. The NCID is similar to regular Eirian passports, with a purple cover and lengthy description in place of UCS label.
