The IDU Film Festival is an annual event celebrating filmmaking and cinema across the International Democratic Union and allied regions. National delegations may submit entries honoring films and actors in cinema hailing from their nation. While categories have changed substantially from year-to-year, they usually include one for the best recent IDU film, classic film, and foreign film from outside the IDU. The event is typically hosted in a city chosen by the nation whose entrant won Best Film at the previous year's festival.
