In Wosteaque, a district is a constituent political entity, of which there are 167. Separated into five republics of which they are in a political union, each district holds governmental jurisdiction over a separate and defined geographic territory where it shares its sovereignty with both the republican government, and the federal government. Due to this shared sovereignty Wosteaquean citizens are citizens of their district, or independent city, their republic, and Wosteaque itself.
