The Xiomeran Imperial Army is the principal land warfare force of Xiomera. It is a component part of the Xiomeran Imperial Armed Forces. The Army does not include the Special Forces, which are a separate branch of the military.
Personnel
The Imperial Army is a volunteer force, although provisions exist to institute a draft in the event of national emergency or war. The full-time component of the Imperial Army numbers 505,000 troops, with an additional ready reserve of 90,000 troops. In moments of dire national emergency, the government can mobilize as many as 1.5 million additional local defense troops under the Imperial Home Guard.
Auxiliaries and irregulars
The Xiomeran International Legion is a special force of 50,000 foreign troops who serve the Xiomeran Empire in exchange for benefits and citizenship. The International Legion is known for being both ruthless and highly undisciplined, with its ranks often made up of criminals and others escaping from issues in their home countries. As a result, the Legion is often used as a "shock force" to frighten and overwhelm opposing forces.
Equipment
Xiomeran military equipment is among the best in the IDU, being rigorously developed and tested both in the field and the laboratory. All Xiomeran weapons are domestically produced by national manufacturers.
