Christos history begins with a young | Christos history begins with a young man named Chris who was chosen by the United States (US) government along with other willing participants to explore space. Captain Chris along with his team journeyed into space on their rocket aptly named “Adventure Horizon.” After many years of searching; Captain Chris and the crew of “Adventure Horizon” located a planet that was not any other nation. Chris chose this planet because it had the same atmosphere as Earth, giving the crew more time to explore and study the plants and the wildlife of the planet. When the crew finally landed, Captain Chris claimed the planet for the US and named the planet after himself calling it Chrisos. Chris and his crew set up the first base, called Fort Discovery, and sent word to the US to send more people and supplies to the planet. In time, more people arrived, and the base became a colony, which was called the Virginland colony named after the "virgin" land they settled on. As time passed the Virginland colony grew and expanded; new towns and cities were founded: B Town, Lincoln DX, Virginia City, and many more. During the expansion the Virginland colony had their first contact with an indigenous tribe called the Showa. Suspicious with each other at first an alliance was eventually formed, known as the Showa – Virginland Brotherhood Alliance shortened to the Brotherhood Alliance. In the terms of the treaty the Showa would help the colony survive and navigate the planet of Chrisos, which the native tribes called “Terrarium” and in return the US and the colony would respect the sovereignty of the Showa Tribe. The colony and the US agreed to the terms and in addition to having their recognized sovereignty the U.S. sent dozens of aid, tools and food from the US to the Showa Tribe. Soon thereafter the colony formed a stable government and Captain Chris became the defacto Governor. With his guidance the Virginland colony expanded and prospered. Jeffery Johnson was a patriotic soul from Maryland, US and wanted to align the colony’s culture with the American culture. Jeffery did this with ferocity and quickness that many atrocities were committed along the way, he also forced the Tribes of the Brotherhood to change their ways as well; ignoring the treaty that was made. Those who disobeyed or went against these changes were imprisoned, tortured, rehabilitated, or executed. These actions gave Jeffery the nickname “The Steel Patriot.” Infuriated by the removal by the US government Chris left the Virginland colony, which had be renamed to the Buchanan colony, and found new lands to claim for his own. New cities and towns like Christofton, Chris City, and Bluesville rose from the ground up as Chris made his own colony that he named the Chrisos colony. Tensions grew between the 2 colonies. Small skirmishes broke out which eventually turned into riots. Many supporters tried to flee the Buchanan colony for the Chrisos colony, but some were unsuccessful, leading to a travel ban between the two colonies. Tensions came to a head during an event dubbed “The First Revolt.” Some soldiers of the Buchanan colony were rounding up deserters in one of the roads leading out of the territory. Within minutes the round up turned into a gun fight as assailants jumped out of the nearby woods and killed the soldiers. When Governor Johnson heard about the incident, he sent a retaliation battalion to one of the outskirt cities that were known supporters of Chris and massacred the populace. Appalled by what had happened Chris gathered his loyal supporters and marched to meet the Governor Johnson either for talks or for war but before the day of the meeting a message from the US government announced that a new Governor would replace Jeffery Johnson. The Monarchical Republic of Christos, commonly called Christos, is a Monarchial Republic. Christos is located on the planet Chrisos Prime which resides in the Colonis Spatium Universe. Christos is best known internationally for its intelligent and kind populace, its spacious and diverse environment, its international acumen and influence, and its unique and delicious food. Christos has a diverse landscape ranging from oceans, waterways, deserts, plains, and mountain ranges. Christosians are well-known in the areas of technology and agriculture. Christos mirrors the culture of their mother country the United States of America but there are some major differences that make Christos unique.
In the NationStates universe Christos is part of the International Democratic Union region.
Etymology
The present name of the nation Christos is pronounced [Kris-tos], and is named after the founder of the nation King Chris. The standard way to refer to a citizen of Christos is "Christosian" [Kris-toe-si-an]. Before the name change and during the Empire Era the country was called The Chris Empire, it is pronounced [Kris Em-pie-er]. The citizens of The Chris Empire were referred as Christio Citizens, which is pronounced [Kris-Tee-Oh Sidizen].

The history of Christos can be divided into 3 eras: The Colonial Era, The Empire Era, The Republic Era.
The Colonial Era
