During this period many technological advancements were made, which included sending the first satellite into space and sending the first human to the moon. By April 1970 space exploration technology was perfected by the US. In August 1975 the technology was put to test when the US successfully landed on Mars. The news of the successful Mars landing led many of the other major nations (Britain, The Soviet Union, France, and China)  to start their own space programs or to add more funding to their space programs and by the start of 1976 many exploration rocketships were launched into space. These initial explorations started the period known as the Great Age of Exploration. The Great Age of Exploration stagnated soon after the initial launches due to wars, conflicts, and diseases affecting Earth. It was not until 2008 when the Great Age of Exploration started up again. In retaliation to the Jacksonia expansion and the expansion of the Russian and Spanish colonies the 9 tribes formed an alliance called The Brotherhood. The Jacksonia interaction with the The Brotherhood was minimal but a few misunderstandings and skirmishes happened. Before Governor Christian's retirement he signed a treaty with The Brotherhood where the colony of Jacksonia promised to no longer encroach on The brotherhood's lands. After 23 years Governor Christian retired and was succeeded by Jonas Siegfried. Under Governor Siegfried Jacksonia grew and prospered. Jacksonia's growth led to more expansion which broke the treaty made by former Governor Christian. This led to more conflicts with The Brotherhood. Governor Siegfried ruled for 12 years until on July 9, 2926 he was killed while leading the Jacksonia troops against The Brotherhood. The Red Faction was supported by Governor Wanker and the Jacksonia government. The leader of The Blue Faction was a former Captain named Chris. Chris left the US and was assigned to patrol the waters around Jacksonia. While patrolling the waters Chris came across a group of Jacksonians harassing a couple of native tribe boys. Appalled Chris decided to help by stepping in and helping out the boys. When news reached the government of what Chris had done he was stripped of his rank as Captain and kicked out of the military. Another incident that shaped Chris was seeing how the American/ Jacksonian elites, government, and American tourists treated the poorer Jacksonians.  After everything that Chris experienced he decided to start a group which would be called The Blue Faction. Chris decided to run for mayor of the town of [u]Greckoville[/u] to try and have some say in the government but due to armed fights between the faction Governor Wanker barred Chris's and any Blue Faction member from running for office. This act by the government started the [u]Voice for the People Protests[/u]. Many protests started with the help from the Blue Faction. Governor Wanker put down the protests and arrested many protesters. The Blue Faction was labeled a rebel group by the government and Chris and his followers fled into the woods to start a new colony. The US replaced Governor Wanker with Jeffery Johnson. [u]Jeffery Johnson[/u] was a patriotic man from Maryland, US and his agenda when he became Governor was to align the Jacksonian culture with the American culture. Governor Johnson did this with fervent quickness that many atrocities were committed. Those who disobeyed or went against his changes were imprisoned, tortured, rehabilitated, or executed. These actions gave Governor Johnson the nickname “The Steel Patriot.” Small skirmishes between Jacksonia military and Christos broke out which eventually turned into larger battles. Many supporters tried to flee Jacksonia for Christos, but some were unsuccessful, leading to a travel ban between the two colonies. Tensions came to a head during an event named [u]The First Revolt[/u]. The First Revolt started when Jacksonian soldiers were rounding up people who were trying escape Jacksonia. Within minutes of the round up assailants jumped out of the nearby woods and killed the soldiers and set the prisoners free. When Governor Johnson heard about the incident, he retaliated by sending a battalion to a city on the outskirts of Jacksonia that supported Christos and had the populace massacred and anyone that survived imprisoned. Chris also needed the support from the native Terragonians that were cheated out of their lands by the US. Chris was able to negotiate a treaty with 3 more native tribes promising them their own sovereign land. Gaining the support from the native tribes Chris's army grew. In the [u]Treaty of Ottawa[/u] Christos took over all Jacksonian lands and would allow any Jacksonian to leave Terragon. The first thing on the convention's list was to establish a government. Most representatives threw their support for the idea of making Chris King of the new nation. Chris hesitantly accepted the title only if the Grand Convention would turn the government into a Constitutional Monarchy with a Parliament. The Grand Convention conceded to Chris's request by creating the office of Prime Minister, along with a legislature known as the [u]National People's Congress[/u]. The Supreme Court of Christos was also made with a 7 member body. The native tribes were given back some of their lands and were also given autonomy but, with persuasion from Chris, they promised not to seek independence from Christos. The Grand Convention decided that the year would reset on the crowning of Chris and the Year would be known as 0 AC (After Crowning). Chris would be 50 years old when crowned King and while on his journey around Terragon he found "water of youth" which would extend his life. In his crowning ceremony speech Chris said this "Today we start a new nation through the blood, sweat, and tears of the oppressed people. Even though this nation has a King, my power and the power of the government comes from the people! We will stand together and turn this nation from a collection of people into a great Empire!" King Chris's reign started off well. There were disagreements with the Prime Minister and the National People's Congress but it was relatively tame. During Chris's reign Christos experienced a strengthening of the government, infrastructure, industry, education, and healthcare. Christosian identity was also formed during King Chris's reign. Christos adopted a national anthem and the flag of the revolution was redesigned to become the National flag of Christos. Chris reigned for 55 years until he decided to abdicate the throne to his eldest son Luke. During the remaining years of his reign Chris issued a decree stating that his next heir would not hold the title of King but would be called Crown Prince/ Princess. After a period of consolidation, the idea of territorial expansion made a comeback when Crown Prince Alexander I came to power. Alexander I wanted to go a step further than Robert by conquering all of Terragon. Alexander I was able to beat the Russian and Spanish forces as well. At the end of his campaign Alexander I faced 2 problems, a financial recession and a succession crisis. During Alexander I's conquests he fathered a first born son named Robert but because Alexander I was away on war he left his son in the care of one his most trusted adviser Khalid Al-Uslam. Young Robert grew up all his life in the care of Al-Uslam, even considering him his true father. Alexander I's other advisers became worried that Robert would be heavily influenced by Al-Uslam. So with convincing Alexander I had Al-Uslam executed and had Robert returned home. When Alexander I died, having suffered from alcohol poisoning after a party, Robert was crowned Crown Prince. During the coronation when it came time for Robert to choose his regal name he declared that he would be known as Crown Prince Uslam I; he also revealed that he had converted to Islam. The government and the populace were outraged to find out what had happened. Many riots flared up to oppose Uslam I's reign, even the Prime Minister at one time urged the Crown Prince to abdicate or face a Coup by his own people. During Uslam I's reign he was able to appoint the next Arbiter with much negativity. Victor III hardened his stance on keeping the monarchy's powers intact but as a result the Christosian people staged mass protests around Terragon know as the [u]Leadership Protests[/u]. In months the National People's Congress joined with the people in calling for a new government; as more pressure was put on Victor III he definatly would not budge even after the urging of the government. The start of the The Chris Empire begins with a young man named Chris being picked to colonize a new world for the United States government. Among the other people chosen he was the designated leader of the group and although he was working for the United States government, he knew that the U.S.'s reach was too thin. So while on the voyage to the new planet he came up with ideas of breaking away from the U.S. and making a new nation on the new planet. When they landed on the new planet he christened it Christos Prime and claimed it for the U.S. He then discovered the colony of Benedict Town in honor of his last name. As time passed the colony grew and expanded, discovering new areas to settle, new neighbors to meet and new ways to live. The U.S. sent dozens of aid, tools, food, weaponry and more settlers to expand their new territory. The new government headed by Chris thrived becoming governed in a totally different way then the U.S. Seeing this different for of government me used, worried the U.S. So they sent a new governor to take the place of Chris. With that Chris moved out of Benedict Town and founded a new settlement called Chris City.

He condemned the treatment of his brother due to his faith and declared that tolerance classes would be a required training course for anyone that wanted to work in Christos and any company that wanted to do business in Christos no exceptions. During Christopher IV's reign, Christopher IV delegated more tasks to the Prime Minister compared to the previous Prime Ministers. During the reign of Victor III a recession started and soon civil unrest rose when calls for a federal republic rose again. Victor III and the government hardened their stance on keeping the monarchy and the government intact. Because of this the people staged mass protests know as the Leadership Protests. The people involved in the protests named themselves The Representatives. Even with the heavy pressure Victor III would not budge even after the urging of the government. These protests put a lot of strain on Crown Prince Victor III that he fell ill and died the following month.
Time passed but as was predicted most people liked and missed the way Chris ruled Benedict Town and disliked the Governor the U.S. installed. The U.S. governing style was out of touch to the locals that talks of revolution spread from Chris City to Benedict Town to each city and town. Many people started to leave U.S. controlled cities and towns, like Benedict Town, and move to Chris City; arming themselves with the aid that was given, brought and stolen during the journey. Then the War for Christos Independence began. First starting with small raids and burning farmland to seizing towns. The battle plan was to march from city to city before arriving to Benedict Town and laying siege to the town. Many towns surrendered peacefully accepting the government that they had before but for some loyalist towns it was pure war. Then Chris and his followers arrived at the outskirts of Benedict Town, waiting for them were a multitude of U.S. soldiers and armed loyalists. The battle lasted for 5 days then on the fifth day the U.S. retreat trumpets sounded and a transport ship left the town. With that the people chose Chris to be their King eternal, and Chris declared that the newly formed nation would be called The Chris Empire. Two months after the war a formal independence declaration from the U.S. delivered by the former Governor was given to the new nation. Thus solidifying the independence of The Chris Empire.

Alexander II, Victor III's son, was crowned Crown Prince and his first decree was to end the "cold war" against the people and the government now known as the Leadership Protest Conflict after 4 years by calling a second Grand Convention to reform the government. The convention decided that the monarchy would still be in place but the government system of Christos would change to a Federal Republic. The Prime Minister would be replaced by a President and the President would share power with the Crown Prince/ Princess. The National People's Congress was also reworked from a unicameral legislature to a bicameral legislature. Congress would have two house, the Senate (2 per Oblast) and the House of Populous (Based on Population of each Obloast) with the Speaker of the House being renamed Premier. A new constitution was written and signed and an election was scheduled for the 2nd Saturday in November and in January the person with the most voted would become inaugurated as President. It was also decided that The Chris Empire name would no longer be used to refer to the nation. It was decided that the capitol of Christos would move from St. Christoper to a new city that would be called Coronasburg. Also during Crown Prince Alexander II's reign Alexander announced that he was gay and that he intended to marry his life long partner William. Because of this decree the crown would pass to his brother Benjamin.

After the death of Victor III, his son Alexander II came to power. The Prime Minister position was renamed to Premier and was designated as the Speaker of the House for the House of the Populous. The President would serve a 4 year term, The Senate would have a 6 year term, and the House would have a 3 year term. With much debate it was decided that the President would hold most of the leadership power but the Crown Prince/ Princess would have special powers over the laws and the other branches of government. This sharing of powers angered some of the protest leaders and about 20% of them walked out of the convention. The 80% that stayed approved and signed the [u]new Constitution of Christos on November 29[/u]. The election of the first President of Christos took place at the 2nd Convention. The 2nd Convention chose Paul Warren as the first President of Christos in a 90% to 10% vote. In his inauguration speech held on the 2nd Saturday of January he declared that he would only be President for 1 term of 4 years, citing that "He wanted all of Christos to vote for the President and not just a chosen few."
Also during this time Alexander II revealed to the nation that he was gay; making him the first monarch to be gay. Unfortunately this meant that the Alexander II's crown would pass to his brother Benjamin when Alexander abdicates or passes away.

Large wild animals in Laeral include the brown bear, lynx, 'snow cat' (snow leopard), Chinese mountain cat, and grey wolf, although these are widely hunted and now have a severely curtailed frequency and range. Other wild mammals include the Summer Dog (raccoon dog), the Iduvian red and water deer, the marsh deer (Pere David's Deer), and the marmot. Birds common in Laeral include various cranes, the snowcock, the heron, various swans, and various pigeons.
The election of the first President of Christos ushered in the Republic Era. During this era Christos reached its pinnacle of expansion. President Paul Warren the first President of Christos along with the National People's Congress increased the number of Justices on the Supreme Court from 7 to 13. President Warren also reworked and renamed most of the cabinet positions. During the presidency of Diane Marconi Christos joined the region of the [[International Democratic Union]]. From the membership Christos was able to request land on the continent of Hesperida on land known by Christosians as Dos Islas (Two Islands). Also from the membership Christos was able to open up new alliance and trade agreement talks with the many nations residing in the region.


Laeralian meat raised for cultivation lacks large pasture animals such as cows. Farmers instead focus on keeping geese, ducks, chickens, grouse, pheasant, and pigs, as well as sheep and goats in mountainous areas. Carp are farmed in the Riverlands, and water buffalo and oxen are kept as plow animals.

Terragon is an Earth like planet that has an atmospheric that can sustain life. It is orbited by 1 satellite named the moon. The land is more mountainous in the center of its main continent and their are more islands on its Southern hemisphere. Terragon orbits around a a red dwarf star named Helios. Terragon spins on its axis 365 days per 1 revolution/ year.


Laeral has a beautiful environment, with many areas preserved as national parks. Notable attractions can be found in some of the more rural provinces, as well as in some coastal provinces such as Althea. Environmental legislation protects environmentally sensitive areas such as wetlands and old growth forests, and tourism and development are severely restricted into some areas. Some areas, conversely, are heavily developed, such as the Laeralford area and certain sections of Cenefort. Additionally, very strict environmental regulations govern water pollution, as fishing is one of Laeral's largest industries. This was not always the case; until the 1960s, the environment was not a major concern in Laeral. However, pollution remains an issue in many areas of Laeral's old industrial belt.

They typically use assault rifles, notably the Laeralian-made A-220c. Their military doctrine concentrates on rapid strikes and flexibility. The Monarchical Republic of Christos, commonly called Christos, is a Monarchical Republic located on the planet of Terragon which resides in the Colonis Spatium Universe. Terragon is an earth like planet and is the size of Mercury.

In the NationStates Universe Christos is part of the International Democratic Union region. On the IDU planet Christos is located on the continent of Hesperida on land known as Estierra and is bordered on the North by Gonhog and borders the Great Gulf to the South.

The people of Christos are known for their kind nature, their love for their country, and their expertise in technology. The industry sector is dominated by Tourism industry, with significant contributions from Information Technology, Basket Weaving, and Door-to-door Insurance Sales. State-owned companies are reasonably common. Christos cherishes the environment and is one of the leading nations invested in alternative energy.

Etymology[edit | edit source]

The present name of the nation Christos is pronounced ['Kris-tos'], and is named after the founder of the nation King Chris. Others speculate that the name Christos was used to honor Jesus Christ or the St. Christopher the saint Chris was named after. The standard way to refer to a citizen of Christos is "Christosian" ['Kris-toe-si-an']. During the country's expansion during the Empire Era the country was called The Chris Empire, it is pronounced ['Kris Em-pie-er']. The citizens of The Chris Empire were referred as Christio Citizens, which is pronounced ['Kris-Tee-Oh Sidizen'].

Christos history can be divided into four eras - The Colonial Era, The Christos Era, The Empire Era, and The Republic Era

The Great Ages Exploration and Colonization

On August 1957 the space race between the United Sates and the Soviet Union began. During this period many technological advancements were made, which included sending the first satellite into space and sending the first human to the moon. By April 1970 space exploration technology was perfected by the US. In August 1975 the technology was put to test when the US successfully landed on Mars. The news of the successful Mars landing led many of the other major nations (Britain, The Soviet Union, France, and China) to start their own space programs or to add more funding to their space programs and by the start of 1976 many exploration rocketships were launched into space. These initial explorations started the period known as the Great Age of Exploration. The Great Age of Exploration stagnated soon after the initial launches due to wars, conflicts, and diseases affecting Earth. It was not until 2008 when the Great Age of Exploration started up again. In 2011 another scientific breakthrough was made with the invention of planet terraforming technology by the US. The US tested the terraforming technology with the founding of the first Mars Colony. The success of the Mars colony marked the transition from the Great Age of Exploration to the Great Age of Colonization.


Terragon Pre-Colonization

The first known people that lived on Terragon were a number of tribes scattered throughout the planet. Nine of these tribes eventually formed into larger nations that inhabited Terragon.


The Colonial Era[edit | edit source]

Founding of Terragon

Some time after the start of the Great Age of Colonization the US sent another wave of explorers to space which was known as Pilgrim Mission #20. One of the Captains on the mission was named Alfred Christian and his ship was named Adventure Horizon. After many years of traveling and searching space; Captain Christian and his crew located a planet that was not claimed by any other nation. Initial scans of the planet showed that it had the same atmosphere as Earth. This gave the crew of Adventure Horizon more time to explore and study the plants and wildlife of the planet. On August 21, 2891 the crew finally landed, Captain Christian claimed the planet for the US and named the planet Terragon after calling the planet the "paragon of all virgin lands" he had seen in his lifetime. Alfred and his crew set up the first base, called Fort Discovery, and sent word to the US to send more people and supplies to the planet. In time, more people arrived, and the base grew into a colony, which was eventually named Jacksonia after the former US President Andrew Jackson.


Other Claims For Terragon

Word spread throughout the world about the US colony in Terragon. This news peaked the interest of other nations that wanted a piece of the planet. Three nations eventually sent missions to Terragon they were Spain, Russia, and Great Britain. The Spanish colony of Del Torro was located on the Golden Oblast, The Russian colony of Vladisgrad was located on the North Eastern Oblast, and the British colony of Terrax was located on the San Miguel Oblast close to the American colony. A formal agreement between America and Britain led to the exodus of the British colony from Terragon.


The Colony of Jacksonia and The Brotherhood

As the colony grew and thrived the US promoted Alfred Christian to Governor of Jacksonia. As Governor Alfred Christian set up a stable government and claimed more land for the US. This expansion led to the first meeting between the native tribes of Terragon. In retaliation to the Jacksonia expansion and the expansion of the Russian and Spanish colonies the 9 tribes formed an alliance called The Brotherhood. The Jacksonia interaction with the The Brotherhood was minimal but a few misunderstandings and skirmishes happened. Before Governor Christian's retirement he signed a treaty with The Brotherhood where the colony of Jacksonia promised to no longer encroach on The brotherhood's lands. After 23 years Governor Christian retired and was succeeded by Jonas Siegfried. Under Governor Siegfried Jacksonia grew and prospered. Jacksonia's growth led to more expansion which broke the treaty made by former Governor Christian. This led to more conflicts with The Brotherhood. Governor Siegfried ruled for 12 years until on July 9, 2926 he was killed while leading the Jacksonia troops against The Brotherhood. In retaliation for the Governor's death the US appointed General Henry Wilson to Governor. Governor General Wilson was tasked with dealing with The Brotherhood and to punish them for the death of Governor Siegfried. Governor General Wilson, as he was called, started a deadly war against The Brotherhood known as the Native War of Supremacy. The war lasted a brutal 5 years and in the end Jacksonia won. During the war many natives were imprisoned and killed. The war not only affected the natives but also the citizens of Jacksonia, who were friendlier to the natives than the government was. To stamp out sentiment for the natives Governor General Wilson issued the Anti-Association Laws which severely damaged the government's relationship with its own citizens. This set off mass protests against the government. Feeling the pressure from the protesters and the bad press it was giving the US relented and replaced Governor General Wilson with a more lenient Governor named Richard Wanker, ending the 19 year rule of Governor General Wilson.

Beginnings of Independence and The First Revolt

After the Native War of Supremacy an internal conflict split the people of Jacksonia. One side supported the complete extermination and slavery of the conquered tribes [u](The Red Faction)[/u] while the other side supported better relations and concessions with the conquered tribes [u](The Blue Faction)[/u]. The Red Faction was supported by Governor Wanker and the Jacksonia government. The leader of The Blue Faction was a former Captain named Chris. Chris left the US and was assigned to patrol the waters around Jacksonia. While patrolling the waters Chris came across a group of Jacksonians harassing a couple of native tribe boys. Appalled Chris decided to help by stepping in and helping out the boys. When news reached the government of what Chris had done he was stripped of his rank as Captain and kicked out of the military. Another incident that shaped Chris was seeing how the American/ Jacksonian elites, government, and American tourists treated the poorer Jacksonians. After everything that Chris experienced he decided to start a group which would be called The Blue Faction. Chris decided to run for mayor of the town of [u]Greckoville[/u] to try and have some say in the government but due to armed fights between the faction Governor Wanker barred Chris's and any Blue Faction member from running for office. This act by the government started the [u]Voice for the People Protests[/u]. Many protests started with the help from the Blue Faction. Governor Wanker put down the protests and arrested many protesters. The Blue Faction was labeled a rebel group by the government and Chris and his followers fled into the woods to start a new colony. The new colony that Chris formed was named [u]Christos[/u] and the colony prospered and grew. Chris designated the city of St. Christopher as the new capital for the colony. Chris also formed an alliance with two native tribes, who were former Brotherhood members, the Rune and the Daron tribes. Tensions grew between Jacksonia and Christos when the separation occurred. Tensions between Christos and the US government grew when the US issued a tax on goods coming from Christos because the US wanted to punish Christos for separating from Jacksonia without approval from Congress. News of the separation in Jacksonia reached the US government. The US was furious with how Richard Wanker poorly handled the situation so they fired Governor Wanker, ending his 15 year tenure. The US replaced Governor Wanker with Jeffery Johnson. [u]Jeffery Johnson[/u] was a patriotic man from Maryland, US and his agenda when he became Governor was to align the Jacksonian culture with the American culture. Governor Johnson did this with fervent quickness that many atrocities were committed. Those who disobeyed or went against his changes were imprisoned, tortured, rehabilitated, or executed. These actions gave Governor Johnson the nickname “The Steel Patriot.” Small skirmishes between Jacksonia military and Christos broke out which eventually turned into larger battles. Many supporters tried to flee Jacksonia for Christos, but some were unsuccessful, leading to a travel ban between the two colonies. Tensions came to a head during an event named [u]The First Revolt[/u]. The First Revolt started when Jacksonian soldiers were rounding up people who were trying escape Jacksonia. Within minutes of the round up assailants jumped out of the nearby woods and killed the soldiers and set the prisoners free. When Governor Johnson heard about the incident, he retaliated by sending a battalion to a city on the outskirts of Jacksonia that supported Christos and had the populace massacred and anyone that survived imprisoned. Having learned of the massacre, seeing it as the end for any peace talks or compromises Chris declared war on Jacksonia and the US, the War for Independence had started.


The War for Independence

[u]The War for Christosian Independence[/u] lasted for a brutal 3 years. Before the war Chris needed to get recognition for the nation of Christos. He sent letters to the United Nations, Russia, and Spain to gain support for Christos sovereignty from the US. Two months into the war Chris received letters from the UN and Spain affirming their support for the Christos nation. Chris also needed the support from the native Terragonians that were cheated out of their lands by the US. He had been building his support with the native tribes since the founding of The Blue Faction. Chris had already signed a treaty with the Daron and the Rune tribes but he needed more support. Chris was able to negotiate a treaty with 3 more native tribes promising them their own sovereign land. Gaining the support from the native tribes Chris's army grew. Chris also approved spy missions within Jacksonia to instill unrest and provoke the citizen's anger towards the Jacksonia government. The first major battle in the war was on July 12 at the [u]Battle of Bloodfield[/u] where the US and Jacksonia troops where utterly defeated. On September 28 Chris and his troops laid siege to the capital of Jacksonia and by October 4th Christos forces stormed the capital. On October 7 the Jacksonian government and the US government surrendered. A day after the surrender on October 8 Christos formally declared independence. In the [u]Treaty of Ottawa[/u] Christos took over all Jacksonian lands and would allow any Jacksonian to leave Terragon. The US would have to recognize Christos as a sovereign nation and would have to pay war reparations.


The Christos Era[edit | edit source]

The Start of a Nation

After the signing the Treaty of Ottawa a [u]Grand Convention[/u] was called to meet in St. Christopher to decide the details of the new nation. Most representatives were from Christos but the native tribes that had helped win the War for Independence were given the opportunity to send representatives from their tribes as well. The first thing on the convention's list was to establish a government. Most representatives threw their support for the idea of making Chris King of the new nation. Chris hesitantly accepted the title only if the Grand Convention would turn the government into a Constitutional Monarchy with a Parliament. The Grand Convention conceded to Chris's request by creating the office of Prime Minister, along with a legislature known as the [u]National People's Congress[/u]. The Supreme Court of Christos was also made with a 7 member body. The native tribes were given back some of their lands and were also given autonomy but, with persuasion from Chris, they promised not to seek independence from Christos. The Grand Convention decided that the year would reset on the crowning of Chris and the Year would be known as 0 AC (After Crowning). Chris would be 50 years old when crowned King and while on his journey around Terragon he found "water of youth" which would extend his life. In his crowning ceremony speech Chris said this "Today we start a new nation through the blood, sweat, and tears of the oppressed people. Even though this nation has a King, my power and the power of the government comes from the people! We will stand together and turn this nation from a collection of people into a great Empire!" King Chris's reign started off well. There were disagreements with the Prime Minister and the National People's Congress but it was relatively tame. During Chris's reign Christos experienced a strengthening of the government, infrastructure, industry, education, and healthcare. Christosian identity was also formed during King Chris's reign. Christos adopted a national anthem and the flag of the revolution was redesigned to become the National flag of Christos. Chris reigned for 55 years until he decided to abdicate the throne to his eldest son Luke. During the remaining years of his reign Chris issued a decree stating that his next heir would not hold the title of King but would be called Crown Prince/ Princess. The title change was made to show that the next monarch was crowned by no one else but the people.


Christos's First War

King Chris first international conflict came when other nations started to settle on Terragon. Chris was able to negotiate with most nations to recognize all of Terragon under Christosian rule. The nations that did not agree were The Byzantine Empire and The Novoya Union, causing tension between these nations and Christos. The Byzantine Empire crossed the line when they settled the city of [u]Pluton[/u] right next to the Christosian city of [u]Gladria[/u]. This act of expansion escalated tensions and Chris asked Congress for a declaration of war against The Byzantine Empire, Congress voted for war. The Byzantine-Christosian War lasted for 7 months and in the end Christos won and forced The Byzantine Empire to leave Terragon. To wipe away any trace of The Byzantine Empire King Chris renamed the former Byzantine city of Pluton to Hades. The defeat of the Byzantines worried the Spanish and Russian colonies on the planet, the Christos government assured the two nations that their territories would be safe from Christos expansion.


The Empire Era[edit | edit source]

The Future After The King

After King Chris's abdication his son Luke was crowned the first Crown Prince of Christos. The title of the new heir apparent was changed to Duke/ Duchess of St. Christopher. During Crown Prince Luke's reign a civil war started between [u]The Loyalists[/u] who supported the Crown Prince and [u]The Republicans[/u] who wanted to abolish the monarchy and establish a Federal Republic. The civil war was known as the [u]Leadership Civil War[/u]. The war lasted for 7 years with The Loyalists declaring victory. Winning the war cemented the rule of the monarchy for decades to come. Luke allowed most of the defeated Republicans to be exiled but saved the punishment of execution for the leader of the Republicans.


From Nation to Empire

Years after the government started to have ambitions to expand Christos's borders. The support for expansion was not highly supported by the Christosian people because of the promise made to the native tribes after the War for Independence. The idea eventually gained favor by the public when Crown Prince Robert ascended the throne. Robert urged the government and the people to support his campaign he called [u]The March West[/u]. The March West campaign was a plan to expand the territories of Christos West of its current borders. The March West eventually led to conflicts with the neighboring tribes. The tribes reminded Robert about the Ottawa Treaty that was signed; so Robert issued an ultimatum with the tribes stating "that any tribe can still have autonomy but must swear fealty to the monarchy and the government of Christos, if not swift annihilation will come to them." Fearing the threat by the Crown Prince known as the "Tribal's Bane" 5 tribes accepted Robert's offer, the other tribes that refused formed a new alliance called [u]The West Alliance[/u]. The March West campaign turned into a 2 year war against the West Alliance in is known as the [u]Great War for the West[/u]. Robert eventually won the war and annexed the West Alliance's land. Robert gave the defeated West Alliance people a choice either to be exiled, to be integrated, or to be executed; most men of the alliance chose execution. With his huge victory and conquest of the west Robert declared Christos an Empire. This gave Christos its second name [nation]The Chris Empire[/nation].


The Takeover of Terragon and The Foreign Prince

After a period of consolidation, the idea of territorial expansion made a comeback when Crown Prince Alexander I came to power. Alexander I wanted to go a step further than Robert by conquering all of Terragon. In a 10 year long campaign known as the [u]Terragon Expansion War[/u] Alexander I conquered all the lands in Terragon, wiping out most of the tribes that still were around. Alexander I was able to beat the Russian and Spanish forces as well. At the end of his campaign Alexander I faced 2 problems, a financial recession and a succession crisis. During Alexander I's conquests he fathered a first born son named Robert but because Alexander I was away on war he left his son in the care of one his most trusted adviser Khalid Al-Uslam. Young Robert grew up all his life in the care of Al-Uslam, even considering him his true father. Alexander I's other advisers became worried that Robert would be heavily influenced by Al-Uslam. So with convincing Alexander I had Al-Uslam executed and had Robert returned home. When Alexander I died, having suffered from alcohol poisoning after a party, Robert was crowned Crown Prince. During the coronation when it came time for Robert to choose his regal name he declared that he would be known as Crown Prince Uslam I; he also revealed that he had converted to Islam. The government and the populace were outraged to find out what had happened. Many riots flared up to oppose Uslam I's reign, even the Prime Minister at one time urged the Crown Prince to abdicate or face a Coup by his own people. During Uslam I's reign he was able to appoint the next Arbiter with much negativity. After 5 years of standing his ground Uslam I relented and abdicated his throne to his brother who became Crown Prince Christopher IV.


Age of Tolerance and The Christosian Golden Age

Appalled at the abdication of his brother, Christopher IV issued one of Christos's most famous speeches the [u]Speech of Tolerance[/u]. He condemned the treatment of his brother and declared that for Christos to be the best nation in universe it must judge people by character rather than by faith or color. Christopher IV issued the royal decree called the [u]Tolerance and Understanding Decree[/u], which made tolerance training classes mandatory for any business/ company in Christos. Golden Age... The Great Recession and The Leadership Protests

From the Leadership Civil War to Elizabeth's reign the rule of the monarchy was never questioned until the reign of Victor III. During the reign of Victor III another recession hit Christos due to the Victor III's spending and soon civil unrest rose calling for a federal republic system and for the monarchy to relinquish its powers. Victor III hardened his stance on keeping the monarchy's powers intact but as a result the Christosian people staged mass protests around Terragon know as the [u]Leadership Protests[/u]. The people involved with the protests named themselves [u]The Representatives[/u]. In months the National People's Congress joined with the people in calling for a new government; as more pressure was put on Victor III he definatly would not budge even after the urging of the government. The protests put a lot of strain on Crown Prince Victor III that he fell ill and died the following month.

After 5 years Crown Prince Uslam I relented and abdicated his throne to his brother who became Crown Prince Christopher IV. Appalled at what had happened to his brother Christopher IV issued one of Christos's most famous speeches The Tolerance Speech in front of the government and the nation. He condemned the treatment of his brother due to his faith and declared that tolerance classes would be a required training course for anyone that wanted to work in Christos and any company that wanted to do business in Christos no exceptions. During Christopher IV's reign, Christopher IV delegated more tasks to the Prime Minister compared to the previous Prime Ministers. During the reign of Victor III a recession started and soon civil unrest rose when calls for a federal republic rose again. Victor III and the government hardened their stance on keeping the monarchy and the government intact. Because of this the people staged mass protests know as the Leadership Protests. The people involved in the protests named themselves The Representatives. Even with the heavy pressure Victor III would not budge even after the urging of the government. These protests put a lot of strain on Crown Prince Victor III that he fell ill and died the following month.

Alexander II, Victor III's son, was crowned Crown Prince and his first decree was to end the "cold war" against the people and the government now known as the Leadership Protest Conflict after 4 years by calling a second Grand Convention to reform the government. The convention decided that the monarchy would still be in place but the government system of Christos would change to a Federal Republic. The Prime Minister would be replaced by a President and the President would share power with the Crown Prince/ Princess. The National People's Congress was also reworked from a unicameral legislature to a bicameral legislature. Congress would have two house, the Senate (2 per Oblast) and the House of Populous (Based on Population of each Obloast) with the Speaker of the House being renamed Premier. A new constitution was written and signed and an election was scheduled for the 2nd Saturday in November and in January the person with the most voted would become inaugurated as President. It was also decided that The Chris Empire name would no longer be used to refer to the nation. It was decided that the capitol of Christos would move from St. Christoper to a new city that would be called Coronasburg. Also during Crown Prince Alexander II's reign Alexander announced that he was gay and that he intended to marry his life long partner William. The Republic Era[edit | edit source]

Rise of Federalism and The Shared Powers

[u][i][b]Rise of Federalism and The Shared Powers[/b][/i][/u] After the death of Victor III, his son Alexander II came to power. With protest still going on against the monarchy Alexander II declared that he would convene a [u]2nd Grand Convention[/u] to rework the government and move towards a federal republic with the guarantee that the monarchy would stay intact; the leaders of the protests agreed to the convention. During the 2nd Grand Convention it was decided that Christos would move from a Parliamentary Democracy to a Federal Republic. The Prime Minister would be replaced by an elected President and the unicameral National People's Congress would be replace by a bicameral Congress; one wing of Congress would be called the [u]Senate[/u] (3 Senators per Oblast) and the other wing would be called the [u]House of the Populous[/u] (Based on the population of each Oblast). The Prime Minister position was renamed to Premier and was designated as the Speaker of the House for the House of the Populous. The President would serve a 4 year term, The Senate would have a 6 year term, and the House would have a 3 year term. With much debate it was decided that the President would hold most of the leadership power but the Crown Prince/ Princess would have special powers over the laws and the other branches of government. This sharing of powers angered some of the protest leaders and about 20% of them walked out of the convention. The 80% that stayed approved and signed the [u]new Constitution of Christos on November 29[/u]. The election of the first President of Christos took place at the 2nd Convention. The 2nd Convention chose Paul Warren as the first President of Christos in a 90% to 10% vote. In his inauguration speech held on the 2nd Saturday of January he declared that he would only be President for 1 term of 4 years, citing that "He wanted all of Christos to vote for the President and not just a chosen few." Also during this time Alexander II revealed to the nation that he was gay; making him the first monarch to be gay. Unfortunately this meant that the Alexander II's crown would pass to his brother Benjamin when Alexander abdicates or passes away.


Estierra: The Land Outside of Christos and The IDU

The 46th President of Christos Diane Marconi expanded Christos outside of Terragon by sending troops and supplies to a continent known as [u]Hesperida[/u]. Marconi wanted to expand Christos's influence not just by spreading Christosian culture but by claiming land outside of Terragon. The land that was settled became known as [u]Estierra[/u]. It was during this time President Diane Marconi joined the region of [u][region]International Democratic Union[/region][/u], an alliance of nations that resided on the same planet as Estierra.

The election of the first President of Christos ushered in the Republic Era. During this era Christos reached its pinnacle of expansion. President Paul Warren the first President of Christos along with the National People's Congress increased the number of Justices on the Supreme Court from 7 to 13. President Warren also reworked and renamed most of the cabinet positions. During the presidency of Diane Marconi Christos joined the region of the International Democratic Union. From the membership Christos was able to request land on the continent of Hesperida on land known by Christosians as Dos Islas (Two Islands). Also from the membership Christos was able to open up new alliance and trade agreement talks with the many nations residing in the region.

Terragon is an Earth like planet that has an atmospheric that can sustain life. It is orbited by 1 satellite named the moon. The land is more mountainous in the center of its main continent and their are more islands on its Southern hemisphere. Terragon orbits around a a red dwarf star named Helios. Terragon spins on its axis 365 days per 1 revolution/ year.

During the Christos and Empire Eras the government of Christos was a Parliamentary Democracy and a Constitutional Monarchy. The head of government was the Prime Minister while the head of state was the King which then became the Crown Prince/ Princess. The legislature was a unicameral congress called the National People's Congress.

During the Republic Era the government of Christos became a Federal Republic and a Monarchical Republic. The head of the government changed to a President while the head of state remained the Crown Prince/ Princess; both sharing powers of the Executive branch. The legislature became a bicameral congress with one wing called the Senate and the second wing called the House of Populous. The Prime Minister position was scrapped and a new office was created for the Speaker of the House of the Populous known as the Premier.
