===Agriculture===
A majority of Laeralian land remains devoted to agriculture, primarily through large-scale commercial farming following the shift to capital-intensive agricultural production, although a small number of small commercial farms exist for hobby or specialty farming. Small commercial farms in Laeral are largely organized into agricultural cooperatives, an evolution of the collective farm system which allow for the pooling of resources to acquire land and farm technology and facilitate the sale of farm goods to national and international markets. 

Rice and wheat are widely-produced staple grains, while a wide variety of fruits, vegetables, and legumes are produced as well. Cotton production in Laeral is now nearly non-existent, yet was once a predominant crop during the heyday of Laeralian textile production in the mid-20th century. Hogs and poultry are the most commonly raised meat animals.
