==History== ===Founding=== The National Alliance was founded by Joseph Chavez in 2017. Although he had been a member of the Center Party, Chavez became frustrated with leadership. This tension had been building since the 2016 Center Party Presidential Primary when Chavez was narrowly nominated over Joseph Zhang. Chavez was a leader in the Center Party's left-wing faction that pushed Zhang on economics and social issues. In 2017, an internal document by the Center Party was leaked known as the Chavez Doctrine. The Chavez Doctrine suggested using political pressure and the potential use of triads to force Chavez to resign from the Presidency. Upon this, a criminal investigation began by New Liverpool Police and the SIBI on charges of attempted assault and second-degree stalking. Chavez then announced he would change affiliation to Independent on August 28th, 2017. Per an autobiography by MP Dylan Hernan in 2022, Chavez began consulting with other political parties about joining their party. According to Hernan, Chavez also began recruiting political allies to join a new political party. The name National Alliance was chosen to represent the party's nationwide focus and goal of being an alliance of various political and social groups. Hernan also stated that other names considered included "Forward Alliance" and "People's Majority". Along with some support from other MPs, Chavez created the National Alliance on September 8th, 2017, and followed with an address to the public. In his speech, Chavez called out corruption and stated that the National Alliance would allow for a new political movement to form. Following this, the National Alliance established an online poll for new Party members to vote on a political platform. When the National Alliance was formed 40 MPs of the Centrist Party joined as well as 14 from the The Left Party of Slokais. ===2018 Election=== In 2018, they gained enough seats that they could form a collation even though Chavez lost the Presidency he was now Prime Minister. In 2019 the National Alliance made small gains in special elections. Heading into 2020, the party began eating away at the Left Party, eventually forming itself as the main left-wing party. ===2020 Election The party won 172 seats and led a government by Alexandra Ahmad. The National Alliance lost 25 seats in 2022, mainly from the gains of Socialist-Labor.
