==History==

Independent Socialists was formed on November 19th 2023, after the 2023 General Election that saw three socialist independent candidates elected to the Chamber of Deputies. The group was formed to "strengthen the socialist voice in the National Assembly", largely due to the benefits that come with formal status such as increased floor time and improved committee opportunities. The Independent Socialists managed to secure the Vice Chairship of the Foreign Affairs Committee, seen as a major coup for the group.

On the 23rd of November, the group's members were sworn in as Deputies of the National Assembly and nominated Fernando Sintes as their Floor Leader. The following day, two independent members of the Chamber of Regions joined the group.
