Mallacaland Riseing

Ibrahim Moussa and fellow students at Mallacalnd City University read the new Social Guidelines for 2021:
"Still a ban on abortion"
"They reenacted the ban on same-sex marriage, I thought the supreme court said they could not do that"
"And still a ban on e-cigs and vapes?
There was always a political discussion on campus but whenever the council of emirs launched the new yearly guidelines, the "social and religious guidelines for a better Mallacland". However, even seemed to agree that these years were harsher than last years. Every year the council of emirs put out their rules for the country, at least recently there were some cutbacks, like the freedom to practice religion and being allowed to not were a head covering in public places for women. However, it looked like there were tightening them up again.
"They better not cancel the elections again," a fellow student said
"All I want to do is to vote inshallah," someone else said

Later, he was talking with some of his activist friends in a dorm room.
"We should have a protest, maybe they will allow elections this year," Ibrahim said
"but there is a ban on cardboard signs and posters," said one of his friends
"How about we use sports scarfs," he said
"Yes, how about we do it at the next National Team match"
"I am part of a supporters group, I will tell them to make some scarfs then hand them out before the game so during the national anthem we could hold them up," he said.
"All right, everyone, be safe out there"

In the early morning at Mallacland City University, someone pained a mural, by 7 people were gathered around taking photos. It had the words "Mallacalnd Rising" and below that the words "Elections and Freedom Now!". By 7:30 police were on the scene and clearing everyone away from it. On Social Media, it was all people could talk about in the various university groups, though outside Mallacaland City, almost no one had social media or even good internet spread in the countryside was often via radio and word of mouth.
A few hours later the words "Mallacland Rising" were banned across all social media, so people would often call in various other names such as "MCU Mural, MC Mural, and most cleverly. "Religious Art".
The University then sent out a statemate saying they were looking for the creator of the mural and that room inspections would begin across campus soon.
Ibrahim and some other students began hiding anything that could be considered illegal, then heard some noise down the hall, he stepped out and saw about 10 students blocking the stairwell into the floor. A crowd had gathered with police then arriving on the scene, they then arrested those blocking the hallway by force, often dragging them away. He then saw the protester lined up outside, being beaten with police batons as they were thrown into the back of a police vehicle. They came back and forced everyone out of the building and onto the street. A few minutes later they were let back in, however, a few were arrested for various possessions they had.
"This is against our Rights"
"This is illegal"
"Sadly, this is not illegal"
Overall in the span of a few hours over 40 people had been arrested on the University Campus.

At around 5 pm Ibrahim got a call from one of his friends, Mohamed, that there was a protest going on tonight.
"Where"
"In the International District"
"On my way," he said as he ran out of his dorm. He reached International Rd just as a group of protesters was forming, they began marching forward chanting slogans like "Elections and Freedom Now!" or "We believe in a Mallacaland Rising" they reached an intersection, where they met another group of protesters coming from Malsira, along the coast they passed some cars and a lot of people honked in support, some yelled about the traffic, then as they reached Government Square they ran into a group of Royal Guards.
"For the safety of the King, you may not step forward"
"Screw that"
However, in time the entire crowd which had now swelled to a couple thousand stooped and then just sat down, then a group of about 5 protesters grabbed a megaphone and began speaking and listing demands.
"New Elections, Now"
"Workers Rights"
"The freedom to protest, gather and speak our minds about anyone"
"And finally the removal of the emir's decrees for this year"
At around 9 pm or so the Royal Guard spoke again, "there is now a curfew in order to prevent violence"
The crowd started the drift away and walk away, yet some stayed, though were moved by force later on.

At Mallacaland International Airport, a group of masked people began amassing outside the gate, they then forced their way through the doors, drew batons, and began to attack various passengers. As soon as they came they moved away leaving, people behind bloody and beaten. Back outside a man picked up his phone. "It was done sir, yes we know can officially call them terrorists". he laughed and yelled, "Long, Live Mallacland".

The Council of Emirs was speaking to King Abdin II.
"Your Honor we must respond with force to these violent protests," said one of the emirs
"No," the King said
"What"
"If I talked to them maybe they would be more willing to stop"
"Your Honor, these are violent people are you sure you will be safe"
"They don't dislike me, they dislike you," the King said as he got up.

Outside the Palace, protesters gathered once more to demand elections and a new Mallacaland. The king walked towards them his guard surrounding him as he went, he grabbed a megaphone and said "I wish to speak with the leaders of this group, to discuss the best way forward"
A few minutes later, a few of the leaders stood before their king and were escorted inside the Palace.
When they were inside the king asked them "What are your demands"
"Well, your honor we want most importantly new elections and removal of the emir's rules for the nation."
"Look, to be honest, and can not control what the emirs do"
"I thought, you could overrule them"
"No, I can not," the young king said
"You could call elections, right"
"I could dissolve parliament right, now, but not other elections and the emirs could overrule me with a 2/3rds vote"
"What is this because they still do not see you as someone who could make good decisions"
"Yes, technically I am still under there "administrate care" they never ended this care and therefore the rules under the still remain"
"How would you get rid of these admin care rules"
"A majority of the emirs of course"
"What can you do"
"I could change the rules for "non-religious affairs"
"What would that look like"
"Well, the end of the ban on protests and end social media monitoring"
"That at least would be part of it"
"Thanks, for speaking with me"
"No problem, your honor"

The Council Of Emirs spoke to the young king after he made some changes through a decree. It got rid of restrictions on social media and other forms of free speech as well as protest. Because this was a non-social issue the king was allowed to decree on it that issue.

"That is why you still need aid from us, you give the protesters more power," said the head of the council the emir from Permang
"It was not a mistake, I did it out of the heart, you do not understand my father, I wanted to change this emirate, Inshallah.
"You are giving them power, they will now take out both of us"
"Not me, you are the ones making bad decisions"
"What, you are crazy, we need a vote of removal, you are insane your highness I think we should remove you"
"No, I will remove you" the king yelled back
"How you are under our aid you can not do that"
"I see what you scumbags are doing, you will pay for this" the king yelled
The Emir from Permang stood up and calmly said "Don't yell, let's get ready to starting voting"
"When the revolution gets here, you will be on their list" the king yelled as he walked out slamming the door behind him.

They began to go around in roll-call
"No, I don't wish to remove KIng Abdin II" the emir on the end of the row
"What"
"The king is right, the revolution is coming for us"
"The emir from the Western Isles, how dare you"
"The king is telling the truth" he yelled as he stood up
"You do not know what is coming in this nation, as a religious leader and will not stand by as you turn this emirate into ruin"
"Mohamed Hamad, we remove you from the council, you're son will now be the emir for the Western Isles"
"Fine, I will join the movement for a better emirate, Mallacland Rising!," he yelled as he walked out.
"So let us vote, all in favor to remove the king"
Everyone raised their hand.
"So let it been known the King is the 2nd oldest son of King Abdin and brother of former king Abdin II"
"Because the new king is so young we should make his decisions until he turns 14, he is only 9"
"I will be the regent," said the Emir of Permang.

The Former King lead the protester down the A-1 highway, blocking traffic. In front of them, the Royal Guard stood their guns drawn.
"By the Orders of Kings Halmads Regent, the Emir of Permang, you may not move forward"
The former king stepped forward "Do you really, wish to work for a false king propped up by an emir"
"That is not my issue," said the commander of the guard
"I think, it is your taking orders from a religious man, who is basically king, instead of a person of royal blood"
"We obey, the king, King Halamad yet we receive orders from the Emir of Permang" he yelled
"Do you see what the emir is doing, his dirty hands are all over our emirate, and you stand for that" he yelled not to the commander but to his forces
"Silence, he is spreading lies through your ranks to get you to turn against me"
"No, I am speaking the word of truth, I am speaking the word given to me by god"
The officer grabbed his gun "Stand back or we will fire upon you"
"Order, your men to let us pass, we are fighting for a better nation'
"Ready, men fire" he yelled, however, they did not fire
"Fire, already" he yelled
"No, sir we will no be under command of you," a soldier said as he and the rest of the group fired upon the officers and commanders.

When the fire had stooped a soldier stepped forward and said "We will join you for a better Mallacland, we will help you overthrow the emir"
They combined forces marched forward gaining more and more forces from groups of Royal Guards or just simple citizens, by the time they reached Downtown Mallacland City, they had over 5,000 strong.
They reached the main square and were met, this time the Miltary, this time with vehicles and even a few tanks.
"we will stop here," the former king said

Across the emirate, people were holding marches of their own in the Western Isles, the island govermeant expelled the Regents supporters, and the emir there also called for an end to the regent's rule. The Flag of Mallcland Rising was known to be flown everywhere, by supporters across the Emirate, this was their calling. This was their movement for a better emirate and removal of the regent and their allies as well as an end to the emirs and new elections where the people could decide their own fate.

A wall of various objects was made as a makeshift barricade against the military, across from the palace, various leaders were talking around a broken table.
"We have, the royal guard on our side," said former king Abdin now in just a suit
"But the military is in our way, we can not fight our way in," said the new leader of the royal guards in his uniform
"We are broadcasting out demands to them trying to get them on our side," said an activist in grey street clothes
"How soon until our spy gets inside," said the commander
"No word said the king but there planning to advance soon, I hope everyone is armed"
"No, though we could raid the armory, easily"
"get your men down there, and grab as many weapons"
"got it commander"

"We wish to meet your demands," said a man in a military uniform walking over from the military front line.
"How do you know you will no shoot," said King Abdin
"Because we are dropping our weapons," said the commander motioning to his forces
"We will do the same"
The King grabbed a table from the barricade, he also grabbed 2 chairs and then slide one over to the commander.

"So, your group wishes to have an election, is that correct"
"Yes, are you willing to have one that is free and fair"
"Yes, the king hopes to have one by mid-February"
"Sounds, good can we monitor it"
"No, we don't trust, we don't want any fraud"
"Fine, we shall hammer out the details later, okay"
"Sounds good, sir" the commander said as he walked over to his command tent in the distance.

The 2021 Elections, in Mallacland, are for the Mallalcand Parliament, The Parliament was dissolved by King Hassan with guidance from the Council of Emirs. However, there were some new rules, First, every MP who was first elected after 2014 could not run again getting rid of 35 MP,s, However, political analysts outside the emirate say this is to hurt the Party For Change, which gained 32 Seats in 2014. However, Incunmeats before then were allowed to run again without the approval of an emir, that this year's candates needed. Joseph Chavez has called this clear manipulation of the election and said he will keep on sanctions on Emirate of 750,000. The Economy of Mallacland was already unstable and has hurt the state-run companies such as Yellow Star Mining the countries main owner of mines and quarries. So new candidates must be approved in writing by one of the 12 emirs, however many candidates mainly of the opposition have not gotten written permission, meaning unless they find an emir to approve them the only candidates are from the Muslim Union Party. Mohamed Karif is the Prime Minister and head of the Muslim Union Party a traditionalist Center-Right Party. While Hassan Mohami is the leader of the opposition party the Party For Change, a center-left and Socialist Party.
Many POC leaders have boycotted the elections and called for the removal of the no-incumbents and emir approval rules. As well as many Foreign Leaders and many other influential figures.

"Yes" I am said the Emir for Mallacland City
"I know others would not approve me because I was a woman and I was running with Party For Change"
"Don,t worry unlike the other emirs, I actually care about the people of this nation and want a free and fair election," the emir said as he read the application to be on the ballot

He handed it back to Sabbir
"Here you go, good luck in District 56"
"Thanks, good sir"
The Emir sat back at his desk when he got a call from the King
"Hello, your majesty"
"Yes, the other emirs have said you are not going to the plan," said the 9-year-old
He could not believe that the nation was under a 9-year old who was just told what to say
"What do you mean the plan"
"A few people you have said you, yes to"
"A few what"
"A few people running for Parliament"
"Look, I have to make myself open to my people"
"Okay, but remember the plan, we wan to stop them from winning, its our secret right,"
"Yes, it is"
"Okay, bye"
"Goodbye your majesty"
That kid was getting on his nerves, that kid was stupid enough not to notice what was going on around him.

Private Howard Reyez and Captain Robert Cho, stood at the helm of the SIS Victoria City. The Frigate was leading a group of about 5 small transport ships carrying Slokais Island Forces, to act as Peacekeepers ahead of the Election.
"This is the SIS Victoria City, permission to dock at Hassan Penasula Harbor," said Captain Cho
"Access Granted, just don't scare away any ships," said the controller on the other end
The Ship pulled into the Harbor its large mounted gun and various smaller side weapons resting as the crew of around 200 gathered on deck, behind them the transport ship pulled up to a dock right next to the Victoria City.

Captain Robert Cho stepped out to the dock and exchanged a few words with Commander Wan Loo of the Royal Guards
"Welcome, To Mallacland," said the Commander
"Thanks, Commander, we are to observe that your elections are free and fair"
"I don't think you need all of this, our elections will be free and fair, however, these are the orders of the King"
"I See, we will begin to unload troops and we send some to Mallacland City to make sure any violence does not occur"
"Of, course those violent Socialists could cause a lot of trouble"
"That's, not why were hear we think they you might intact violence"
"Really, Us, of course, we would not"
"Good, To see you, Commander Loo"

The 7th Company of the 34th Regiment was set up at a hotel in the International District, the area was empty of many foreign visitors as they had left when the fighting broke out at first. However, there were still people milling about.

Private Emanuel Lopez of the 3rd Platoon of the Company was in a hotel room with his squad members, his squad was made of many Miltary Police or regular police members who had joined. They operated checkpoints and went out on patrols, most of the day they checked IDs and directed people to various political rallies, and gave out info flyes about the election in Mallaca. There Sergeant used to be in Miltary Police but was now with them.

Out the window of the room, they heard a call to prayer from the local mosque as well as what seemed like a gathering of people
"Let me check that out," he said
He got down onto the street and walked over
"Salman," He said in bad Mallaca
"Salman, Salnack,"
"Sorry, I don't speak Mallaca, well"
"Okay, just don't hurt us," said the leader of the group a man of about 20 years old
"We are here to help, you not to hurt you"
"Okay, you are Salnack man"
"Look, I am just checking to make sure nothing bad is going on, here and you know where you are going"
"Okay, Salnack," the man said as he turned laughing, his friends following behind him.

When he got inside he asked the person at the front desk a question
"Do you know what Salnack, means"
"It means Foreign guy, its slang used for mainly people in the International District"

The Polls opened early on Thursday morning for the first day of voting, so that by Saturday Night, full results would be out and the seats could be sorted. However, the people that showed all wore grey scarves.
Private Lopez asked an older woman waiting in line why she was wearing a grey scarf
"(Why are you wearing that)" he asked in broken Mallacan
"(If the people votes are not counted, this is the only we will show who we really voted for)"
Private Lopez asked his friend who was better at Mallacan
"She said If the people votes are not counted, this is the only we will show who we really voted for"
He walked back over and asked why she thought her vote was not going to be counted
"(Because the Emir is corrput and does not care about the people, he knows that we will win)"
His Frirend Translated
"(Well thats were here)" he said
"(You are here, but how about the will of the people, it has been crushed by the emir"

At the Mallacland National Stadium, near Downtown Mallacland City, the only Election Party that is allowed by the emir is going on. Thousands of people stood about listening to speeches from many politicians
"This day is the day the real people speak, not those who came to represent there will," said, Hassan Kaplan a party official for the Muslim Union Party
The crowd roared in approval
"Long Live, Mallacaland" they yelled
Within the crowd were many business people and investors each looking around while being guided by a party official
"As you can see, the stadium was but by support from Foreign Investors, look yourself," said the young man in the traditional clothing of Mallacaland
The group was made up of mostly Xiomerans all remarking about how nice the stadium was and discussing possible ventures in the country, it seemed like Mallacaland had found a new nation to get investment from, soon there would be even more hotels and resorts catering to Xiomara, with Slokais Islands no longer investing in the country, Mallaclaland has to find new money to keep the country afloat.
And Again Xiomera did really condemn what had happened earlier the month, so the government had started up tours again.

Across town, a group of about 100 people from the Party for Change were in a secret election watching party in an old tunnel, however, unlike the party at the stadium they did not think they were going to win.
"I hope maybe we can get 30 seats, I mean a few emirs allowed us to run," said an activist
"This is not the end, we will protest this," said the former king
"But what can we really do this time, they can just put us down," said another activist
"We have the world attention, mainly Slokais is behind us and I think a lot of other nations are"
"So we shall protest peacefully next week then"
"Yes, I hope maybe we can change something, this time," the king said

Private Lopez sat around with his squad watching election results on TV
"So Muslim Union, know has 45 seats, with Union for Change trailing with 22 seats"
"Well, as expected Muslim Union, will win again," said Private Lopez
"That was never, in doubt," said Private Howard
"Yeah, looks like they may be protests by Union for Change," said Officer Zhang
"Alright, keep me updated," said Private Lopez
"Where are you going," said Officer Zhang
"Just to my room"
He ran to his room and grabbed his phone, but on the way out he saw some local police questioning someone on the street
"Hey, Everyone, there seems to be a situation on the street" he yelled as he grabbed his gear and ran downstairs.
The wind blew through the streets as Private Lopez yelling at a man walking down the street with a sign, with an up arrow
"What is the problem here, officer," he said
"Nothing, that is not your job foreigner"
"Hey, I just want to know why you are questioning this man"
"He is a supporter of violence and terrorism"
"How, is that"
"His T-Shirt supports a violent terror group"
"How does a up arrow support terorism"
"It supports the former king, according to the National Security Law of 2021, he should arrested"
The rest of his squad came up behind him
"Whats going on here" said Officer Zhang
"We are arresting this man for terroist activity"
"He seemes to be doing, nothing wrong"
"He, is now leave us you dirty forigeners"
"What did you say" Officer Zhang said as he squad pulled him back
"Its none, of your business, dirty forigen"
"Well, fine I guess you can knock yourself out, your idots"
This time the police officer lunged at Officer Zhang and punched him square in the chest
The two of them started to scrap with each other as they were pulled apart
"Let me get the dity forigen motherf**ker" said the police officer
"Let, the man go, and we can go our ways"
"Fine" the police officer said as he spit into the ground

The protests in Capitol Square had been going on for days with Police and Peacekeepers trying to keep the peace, on the third day, the police began to crack often going out of their way to beat and arrest people. Meanwhile, the Peacekeepers tried to stop violence often breaking up fights between Police and protesters. Most Protesters were peaceful, calling for the emir to resign and make reforms in the country.
"Get the F**k back," said a policeofficer his staff out as his hit protesters, Private Lopez got between him and the protesters "Hey, you will make them angrier," he said
"That means you too dirty foreigner," he said as he swung at Private Lopez, he grabbed the police officer arm and forced him to drop the weapon out of pain, then his police buddies began to come at Private Lopez, around him chaos ensued as Police Officers began to scuffle with Peacekeepers. Even some of the protesters got involved in helping the Peacekeepers. For the next few moments, the groups brawled, gear flying everywhere, then a Police Officer pulled a gun.
"Everyone stop or I will fire on all you F***ers"
The groups separated, from each other, the squad of peacekeepers left as a new group came in a few minutes later, everyone was covered in bruises and cuts, Private Lopez nose was punched in, he grabbed his water and washed his face of blood.
"What was that" yelled Robert Cho the commander of the forces yelled
"We were attacked first," said Private Lopez
"Well, reports tell me you punched first"
"Those reports were from the Police"
"And, those are the report I believe," said Captain Cho
"Don't, you see there working against us, not with us"
"If you really think that you should leave" yelled Captain Cho
"I was just trying, to prevent a conflict between protesters and police"
"Look, I am going to move you back to base, you will no longer be involved in this mission"
"Yes, Commander"

A few hours later, Private Lopez was on a small transport full of other Peacekeepers who were injured or being sent back, in a day he would be back at the Southern Cove base, and would just wait once again for something to happen. He heard about what was going on in Xiomara and he hoped he would be sent there.

In a small basement in Mallacaland City, the former king was sitting around deciding what to do next.
"We could not win, we are being beaten, and the peacekeepers are no match," he said
"Sir, you could take back the throne," said an advisor an old friend named Zarin
"What if I challenged him to combat by the sword"
'what do you mean"
"Since the 1600s there has been an option to challenge the king or his champion to combat for a chance at the throne"
"But, would the accept"
"The emir wants to prove he is better, he would say yes"
"But, sir you have no training in the way of the sword"
"Well, I could find someone, who could train me"
"Alright, let me talk to someone, I know," said his Advisor Zarin as he left the room

“Today, Lauchenoirian Prime Minister Josephine Alvarez addressed the matter of Mallacland following a question in Parliament. The Liberal Prime Minister raised ‘concerns’ over images of police violence against protesters in the religious nation after being asked if her government will consider sanctions against the ruling regime following elections deemed by some to be ‘fraudulent’.”

Clip of Alvarez in Parliament plays

“My government is committed to democracy, and to promoting freedom and fairness across the globe. There have been concerning reports coming from Mallacland over the legitimacy of elections, and we are exploring our options to respond to this. I have seen the images of violence at protests following the elections, and I must strongly condemn the use of violence by police against peaceful protesters in any and all countries.”

“The Prime Minister is expected to announce any measures that will be taken against Mallacland on Friday afternoon. It is uncertain whether or not Lauchenoiria will pursue economic sanctions against the Muslim-majority nation which has close ties with Slokais Islands. In other news, reports indicate that the first Kerlian males have been granted exit permits from the Matriarchal nation…”

A large transport plane landed at Mallacland City International Airport, it was a Slokasian plane. As it landed a few people stepped out, across the tarmac, a group of Slokaisans in Mallacland had gathered behind a barrier.
Lee Zhang walked over to the barrier
"Alright, let's move the barrier," he said to the Mallacaland Guards
"No, we will not move the barrier"
"What?"
"We, will not on orders of the King, himself"
"Why, are you preventing these people from leaving"
"Because there are terrorists, you want to let violent terrorists, leave our border"
"There, are regular people, please"
"No, there will hurt other nations, and we do not want you to take them"
"Please, their families, don't you have a family"
"I, do that is why I will not let, these people leave"
Lee Zhang grabbed his phone and ran back to the plane

The Police moved quickly down Embassay Blvd, they stopped in front of the Laucheroian Embassy
"Leave, the building at once," the commander of the group said through a megaphone
Squads of Police quickly moved through the streets, they found the Laucheroian Cultural Center and walked through the sliding glass doors.
"What is the meaning of this" the receptionist yelled
They went into every room in the building, arresting everyone who was Laucherorian and then lined them up, outside just another group of police came back with a family each holding on to each other for dear life
"What is the meaning of this" one old man yelled
"Sit, down you criminal"
"You have no right to do this"
"Shut up" the officer said as he slammed the old man to the ground
He groaned in pain, his nose bleeding and battered
"If, I hear any of you ask, why you are here,I will do the same to you" the officer said

The Council of Emirs gathered at the Palace
"What Happened, whoever made these decisions should apologize, we have dug ourselves into a pit," said one of the emirs
"Silence, it was I whoever the order, yet in the end, I did not decide any of this," said the Head Emir
He pointed to the young king "He did"
"What" the king sat up, he had been sitting on the throne, picking his nails
"You!" the Emirs said
"What about it, I thought you guys wanted to get rid of the foreigners"
"Not, like this," said one of the emirs his head in his hand
"I just wanted to have a scare those foreigners with a little, force," he said
"There, going to invade us and overthrow us all"
"So war is fun, Pew, Pew"
The Head Emir looked like he saw his own death warrant
"Look, I thought the king was wiser than this"
"He is 9 years old, not 19 years old"
"Fine, then if you want to fight, then last leave right now, there are many people who would kill to have the same role all of you have" the head emir said
The entire Council stood up and walked out with a mix of shame and disgust
"Good, those guys are annoying, find some replacement, NOW!" the kid yelled like the brat that he was

Broadcast on Voice of the People, the Milintican news service

President Matōchmizalo, standing in front of Haven House, issued the following statement: “The stripping of rights from the people of Mallacaland, followed by fake elections, was bad enough. But the incidents today against diplomats and innocent civilians are beyond the pale. The government and people of Milintica strongly condemn the actions of the King and his government and demand their immediate reversal. We will support the Lauchenoirian government and people in whatever response they choose to undertake, and further pledge to support the democratic movement in Mallacaland. So far, no Milinticans have been harmed in Mallacaland, and we warn the King and his government to keep it that way. Milintica will respond with all possible force to defend our nationals if they are threatened in any way.”

After the President was done speaking, General Tlehuaque, commander of the Milintican military, issued his own statement: “Our Popular Freedom Militias are locked and loaded and ready to defend both our own people and anyone whose freedom is threatened. We did it in Xiomera and can do it in Mallacaland, if need be.”

Mallacaland King detains Lauchenoirian citizens in response to comments made by Prime Minister
Since the January 30th elections in Mallacland, which were allegedly rigged by the nation's ruling party, The Muslim Union, dozens of protests have sprung up in major cities of the small nation. Responding both to the election rigging allegations and to reports that Mallacalandian police used excessive force in suppressing several of these gatherings, Josephine Alvarez, Prime Minister of Lauchenoiria, announced that the Lauchenoirian Parliament was considering economic sanctions against the Muslim-majority nation.

This afternoon, King Hassan, the juvenile monarch of Mallacaland, reportedly enraged by the Prime Minister's statement, ordered the detainment of every Lauchenoirian within the nation. The Lauchenoirian Embassy in Mallacaland City was also surrounded by the King's forces. It remains unclear what Hassan hopes to gain from all this, though there are unconfirmed reports that the King plans to ransom the Lauchenoirian citizens.

These brazen arrests have stunned the international community, with many politicians around the world calling for military intervention and a regime change in Mallacaland. According to Steven Jones, a Maximusian attorney specializing in international law, these arrests constitute an unprecedented and needless violation of international sovereignty, and are tantamount to a declaration of war.

The Maximusian Department of State has issued a formal advisory encouraging all Maximusian citizens in Mallacaland to leave the nation as quickly as possible. As of this evening, all flights to the micro-state have been grounded as well.

Though no sanctions on Mallacaland have been announced, Lucas Brown, the Conservative President of Libertas Omnium Maximus, explained during a press conference this evening that the Maximusian government is disgusted by Hassan's treatment of the Lauchenoirian citizens and diplomats who have been detained. The President further decreed that any attempt to similarly "hold hostage" Maximusian citizens in Mallacaland would be viewed as an act of military aggression. He concluded the brief conference by requesting that "the thoughts and prayers of all freedom-loving people around the world be sent out to those detained in Mallacaland."
