Schnauzervolk nations in mourning
#1

The schnauzervolk nations plunged into a period of official mourning over night following the announcement from the Chancellor of Grosseschnauzer that the beloved traditional head of state, Kinderlieb the Second, had passes away following a gallant fight against cancer.
Lieben, as she was affectionately called, was the fifth generation to sit on the traditional schnauzervolk throne; her daughter, Edelweiss the Second has succeeded to the throne.
All government offices in the schnauzervolk nations, as well as many public facilities and businesses will remain closed until the state memorial services in all of the schnauzervolk nations have been completed.

Sad

OOC: It makes me sad to hear this, as even while away, knowing her health state (and recently having lost my cat Howie) I was thinking about her.

IC: The government Mikitivity sends its most sincere regrets to the Schnauzervolk peoples.

The Councilor for International Relations of the Republic of Yuunli sends Grosseschnauzer her sincere condolences.

I have been informed that many border provinces currently display Grosseschnauzer flags on halfstaff.

The citizens of the Empire of Keeslandia extend our most heartfelt condolensces and thoughts during this difficult time of transition. Alas, we fear we may have to face those same issues within the Empire sooner rather than later.

On behalf of Edelwiess The Second, the new traditional head of state, I, as Chancellor of the Democratic Federation acknowledge the expressions of symphathy from our fellow nations of the IDU.
It has been established that the official period of state mourning will continue until next Monday, ten days after the demise of the beloved Kinderleib the Second. On that day, a traditional ceremony that installs Edelweiss as head of state will be conducted, and the schnauzervolk nations will conclude their period of state mourning.

IC: The official period of mourning for the late head of state of the schnauzervolk nations, Kinderlieb the Second, has ended. Grosseschnauzer's avatar will show the image of the new head of state, Edelweiss the Second, for the next few days. Then the Grosseschnauzer flag will be restored as the avatar.

OCC: We're missing Lieben terribly here. Even the four-legged ones. Trying to console them is harder than consoling me, FWIW. Edited to add: Edie won't let me out of her sight.

I think that may be normal for social animals. My cat (though he lived with my folks and his mom) passed away in April from kidney failure. He was survived by his mom, who now follows everybody in that house around and insists that my folks let her in their room every morning at 5 AM!

I just focus on all the good memories that Howie left with me over the past 13-years. Smile
