The IDU is a pretty large region. Our turnover is also pretty high, it seems. We have a few long-standing members who have been here for ages, and a few new members. The new members seem scarce on these forums.
I would like to make a suggestion. When new members enter the region, someone (probably the delegate) would telegram them telling them all the reasons to check out the forum and become involved. We have a lot going on here, or would if people came by.
Since the chances are that I'm going to become delegate, I will try to do that. Here's a sample I drafted up just now:
Welcome to the IDU!
You might not have seen our regional forums. There's a lot going on there, which you might want to check out. Domonia has kindly made us a regional map, on which you can claim a spot. The IDU Council is a voluntary organization dedicated to regional affairs. It's sort of like the World Assembly, but much better. We have a regional currency, the Conargo, which you can adopt if you like. Our off-topic section has everything from engaging debates to mindless chatter.
Sincerely,
[nation]Embolalia[/nation],
IDU WA Delegate
Of course, this is all meaningless without the debate actually being here. I'm currently posting the seeds of some threads across the boards. I hope to see some responses.
