IDU Cheese Festival II
#1

Last Feb. we held the first International Democratic Union Cheese Festival:

As part of that festival it was agreed that the nation that won the best cheese in the IDU would host this year's festival. However, since Groot Gouda is no longer official here (Michel still lurks here sometimes), I would like to suggest that this year's festival be held in Mikitivity -- since as the only application for best cheese related product, my nation won one of the other awards.

The festival will be held in mid-Feb. After Christmas I'll start contacting other regions to encourage international participation, but I'd like to also start encouraging IDU members to start thinking about what you would like to submit (remember you essentially can submit one cheese and one cheese product -- and you *may* submit an entry from last year ... chances are if you had several votes you may win). Smile

Are there any objects to Mikitivity hosting the festival?

I think that would be cool. But we should do it IC this year, seeing as we have the forum for it.

Re possible participants from other regions: If you could invite 'Godwinnia' then I'd appreciate it...

OK, the planning on this has fallen a bit behind, but I still intend to go forward with this.

Here is my general plan. I'd like to actually move this back to March for a few reasons: (1) I'll have a bit more time, and (2) it gives you more time.

As before there will be three categories, with everybody able to enter two of the categories. Plan on the festival being held in mid-March. Smile

Unless I get distracted by other shiny parts of the intarwebz again, Baranxtu will participate... probably joint with CI and OT as the BCO again, so that each region will enter in a different category Big Grin

Saidercray will participate.

I've already an idea for one of the categories, but maybe we'll also enter the second one.

For the cheese products, remember, dips and cheese burgers count! Smile It is really just a catch all category for you to incorporate cheese into your local cuisine.
