Sparrows, anyone?
#1

I spent some time today working on an article for Antrium's national bird, the Granv?o Snowfinch, and I was wondering if anyone wanted any in their country before I drew up a habitat map.

They live exclusively in mountains, and are members of the sparrow family. (Despite the name, snowfinches are sparrows, not finches.)

NSwiki article (not done yet)

If not, that's OK too Smile

I've got some mountains in the south of Ceorana, it would be cool if the sparrows lived there. I don't know if they migrate, but if they do, maybe only in the summer?

Moma always said, "life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get."

But she also said, "Great minds think alike," which applies here because I was just starting to work on the article for the Restine Phebe when I saw this thread!

I stole your layout, because it is much better than mine. I've been spending most of my time trying to find a way to bring Wikipedia's Taxobox template over to NSWiki.

EDIT: But, of course, I never thought to look at Template:Taxobox on NSWiki.

As Quod has mountains, we could definitely have some.

I was trying to figure out Taxobox too! Great minds do think alike Tongue
Thanks for pointing that out, I didn't know NSwiki had one.

And that would work well, Ceo and Quod, because you're on the same island. I can put a cluster up there. Smile

I haven't thought about migration yet, but I could do that too. I'm not a big migration expert so I don't know where to begin with that, but they could definitely migrate from Ceo south, as long as they're in Antrium for at least half the year, since they are our national bird. (Especially for Fall Festival in September.) If you have ideas for that, let me know. Otherwise we can just say they live in both places.

I think you could have one 'faction' of birds that go up to Quod/Ceo in the summer and another faction that just make small migrations around Antrium.

Or, you could have one group that's in Antrium in the summer and a southern nation in the winter, and then another group that's in Antrium in the winter and Quod/Ceo in the winter.

I like this idea. I'll draw up a map for it and put it on this post when I'm done. I'll have them spend the winter in Antrium and then migrate north in summer, some to Antrium, some to Ceo/Quod, and everywhere in between.

And Keeslandia's getting some of these, because he isn't here to protest and it will look better on my map :666:

EDIT: Done. I took some creative liberties and added it in small parts of other countries, if you don't want them, I can take them away if you ask.

This isn't necessarily final, either. If you want some added to your nation or changes made to it in any way, let me know. Or you can draw one (and hopefully make it nicer-looking Wink )

Incidentally, does that island have a name?

Yuunli (the retired nation who owned it first) called it Mich-Inzl.

Unless Ceo renamed it, that's the last name it's had.

If Keeslandia is far enough north, then so are the schnauzerlands. the southern border for Schnauzer Homelands and part of Schnauzer States, and the southern areas of Grosseschnauzer were mountainous, the last time I saw a geophysical map. And of course, part or most of the Schnauzer Dominions has mountains as well since it borders Mik's neck of the woods.

Well, how do you feel about the birds being in the Schnauzer Domains / Mikitivity in the Thuvians? I wouldn't mind having them, and eventually I'll build some articles on insects, which might be bird food. Wink

As some of these birds go west, they could also come to Saidercray, which has mountains in the east and in the south.

Mik, that river valley is shared so we had to agree first, so if you like that idea, I'm fine with it as well.

A cluster in the Thuvians could definitely work, I'll add it to the map later tonight. I can also add that they migrate west to parts of Saidercray.

I added it, and that will be it for requests, unless you are willing to edit the map yourself to include your country, because I'm not good enough in Photoshop to keep editing it Tongue

Here is the map that is going on the wiki:

It is, but in general I'll a way to squeeze anything into that Valley you want that isn't a from Aliens. Not that I have anything against face huggers, but I'd rather not stifle the creative process.
