Gnejs Elections
#1

Inspired by Ceo, the nations of IDU will be consulted in our election.
here are your alternatives........

THE FREE THINKERS OF GNEJS
Extreme libertarians, heavy influenced by the ideas of Ayn Rand and the Objectivists. Are working for a total abolishment of the state and a completely free market. They are also strong advocates for personal freedom. This small party has few, but fanatically convinced, followers. The ?free thinkers? are sometimes compared with cult members, due to the notorious secrecy surrounding their meetings and extreme demands for loyalty directed at the members. Although the comparison to a cult is extreme, a few leading voices of the more moderate right in the country see the Free thinkers of Gnejs as an obstacle rather than an ally. They claim that the party?s radical views, and the fact that they air them in public constantly, intimidate voters from even considering the right as an option for government. The party?s leader is Jonathan Theen, 46 years old, Writer/journalist and also host for the increasingly popular radio programme ?The Anti-Government Hour?.

The Free Thinkers of Gnejs currently holds none of the 349 seats in the parliament.

THE MODERATE PARTY
According to some the party name is misleading as their ideology is probably best described as neo-conservative. By pushing (Christian) family values and extensive privatizations to create a vast private sector and an abolishment of all tariffs, the party?s been trying to get in power for over 20 years. The party has a stronghold in the southern parts of Gnejs where they govern small regions together with the Christian Democratic Party. The party?s leader is currently Knut Atrix, 28 years old. He recently gained power after the previous leader, Glenn-Tomas Hogart, was forced to resign due to a series of ?unfortunate events?. The specifics surrounding his departure from the political scene are few and speculations have occupied a lot of space in Gnejs newspapers. Evil tongues have spread gossip about financial fraud and infidelity, which according to political experts have damaged the party?s reputation. The party is a part of the ?Alliance for Gnejs 2006? alongside with Go Gnejs!, and The Christian Democratic Party.

The Moderate Party currently holds 48 of the 349 seats in the parliament.

GNEJS CENTRIST PARTY
The Centrists are a small party known for their support of the Gnejs farming population. Even though they?ve supported most of the ruling parties? ideas for social reform, they are considered a part of the Gnejs Right because of their resistance against the government dominance in the agricultural sector. Although they are currently in opposition, they are not a part of the ?Alliance for Gnejs 2006?. The Centrists leader is Hanna De Laval, a 37 year old farmer from Gnejs western parts.

Gnejs Centrist Party currently holds 22 of the 349 seats in the parliament.

GO GNEJS!
Neo-liberals with a free and prosperous private sector and market as their highest priority. ?With economic freedom comes individual prosperity, GO GNEJS!? is the campaign motto. They share similar economic views as the moderate party but are far more radical in the sense that they are suggesting an enormous privatization of the public sector, big cuts in social welfare and an abolishment of all environmental regulations as a way to kick start the nation?s economy. The party is the second largest in the country and governs the nation?s biggest city, Port Kejm, and its surroundings. In light of the election they are campaigning with the Moderate Party and the Christian Democratic Party as a part of the ?Alliance for Gnejs 2006?. The party?s leader is Bente Kocktorp, 45 from Port Kejm in eastern Gnejs.

Go Gnejs! currently holds 55 of the 349 seats in the parliament.

CHRISTIAN DEMOCRATIC PARTY
A small party with a charismatic leader and loyal followers. Although based on Christian values and beliefs, they are considered advocates for religious freedom in general. They strongly opposed the abolishment of the state church and the newly passed taxation of religious organizations. The party wants mandatory bible studies in Gnejs schools, a more liberal view in economic issues and mandatory military service. On a more controversial note, the party strongly opposes the rights for gay people to get married and adopt. Most of the party?s followers are located in southern Gnejs and they govern several regions in coalition with the Moderate Party. They are a part of the ?Alliance for Gnejs 2006?. The party?s leader is Richard Garve, a 69 year old ex-minister in the Church of Gnejs and author of the book ?How atheism corrupted Gnejs and stole my daughters virginity?.

The Christian Democratic Party currently holds 33 of the 394 seats in the parliament.

SOCIALIST PARTY OF GNEJS
The third largest party in Gnejs. ?The reds? are mainly concerned with maintaining government dominance in the business sector, providing a well functioning welfare system and a top quality public school. ?Leave no one behind!? is the campaign motto and they have managed to attract a more or less steady 14% of the Gnejs voters for a long period of time. They claim to be advocates for the working class and society?s unfortunate, although voices within the opposition maintain their claim that the party, along with the Gnejs Green Party, always have, and still only attract the lazy and ignorant. The Socialist Party of Gnejs is currently governing The People?s Republic of Gnejs in coalition with the Gnejs Green Party and the Social Libertarian Alliance. The party?s leader is Marfa Fredhell who is also the nation?s minister of business and commerce. She is 27 and has a master in economics from the University of Kejm in Gnejs.

The Socialist Party of Gnejs currently holds 50 of the 394 seats in the parliament.

GNEJS GREEN PARTY
The nation?s largest party by far and have been so for over 20 years. In the last election they managed to get a whopping 35% of the Gnejs voters to side with them. The party is fiercely anti-business and in election times they often campaign with slogans in the line with ?Who needs financial growth when mother earth is crying?!?. Environmental issues are top priority and strict environmental regulations, such as a banning of cars are some of the most radical ideas the party?s put in front of the parliament. Besides the environment the party is concerned with social welfare, involvement in the UN, feminism, a more decentralized government, direct democracy and gay rights. Critics of the party say that the Gnejs economy is rapidly dying under their rule. But although the nation struggle with high unemployment rates and an imploded economy the government have managed to keep relatively high approval rates among the citizens. The Gnejs Green Party is currently governing The People?s Republic of Gnejs in coalition with the Socialist Party of Gnejs and the Social Libertarian Alliance. The party?s leader is Nicolas Winborg, a 25 year old journalist and currently Foreign Minister and Ingra Karlberg, 27 years old with a master in sociology and currently the president of The People?s Republic of Gnejs.

The Gnejs Green Party currently holds 124 of the 394 seats in the parliament.

SOCIAL LIBERTARIAN ALLIANCE
The Social Libertarian Alliance is a very small party with a, in proportion to their size, massive amount of influence. The party motto is ?It?s ok with high taxes as long as they go to wheelchairs, in all other aspects of life, the government should just stay out of our face!?. The motto pretty much sums up everything. Strong advocates for personal freedom, but equally strong believers in a well organized welfare system. With only 4% of the votes, they are the smallest party in the parliament, but their 17 seats are vital because they easily can determine which group of parties that will govern. The party is currently governing The People?s Republic of Gnejs in coalition with the Gnejs Green Party and the Socialist Party of Gnejs. The party?s leader is Yin Retter, a 26 year old social worker from the northern part of Gnejs.

The Social Libertarian Alliance currently holds 17 of the 349 seats in the parliament.

At the moment the ?Alliance for Gnejs 2006? holds 136 of the 349 seats in the parliament, together with the Gnejs Centrist Party they hold 158. The governing coalition presently holds 191 seats.
