IDU Universities

If any of you have roleplaying characters who's past you are trying to lock down, please feel free to have sent them to Mikitivity's premeire university:

Smile

Just go ahead and update the alumni section to point to your character.

Furthermore, as I make characters, some of them will naturally have attended schools in the IDU, so if you have a university, plug it here, and I'll wiki-link to your school!

Woot for more ways to waste productively spend my time :pisang: !

So, I present you the University of Ωn-Baranxi?, Baranxtu's oldest, largest, most renowned and generally bestest university (evah!).

I also already sent someone to Miervatia University - 'tis fun Smile !

Edited: Now, I present you the University of Applied Sciences of Ωn-Baranxi?!

Those are two GREAT articles! Smile

I'll now have to create more characters to take advantage of the great IDU schools popping up!

Excellent Entires ALL! Smile

I ended up needing a medical school and presently there was one in the list:
L?sank?n University

So Jean-Christophe Dunant (SG for the Mikitivity Rote Kreuz) went there. I edited the entry to include an alumni section.

I think we should make a NSWiki article that could serve as an index of programs by subject area, and then all the various univerities with those programs:

Medicine
L?sank?n University

etc.

This would make it easier for people looking to flush out their educational backgrounds to find a program that would best fit their character. The article then could be linked on the main page, since one of the fundamental values of the IDU is education.

I think that's a great idea, Mik.

I'll have to make up some characters to go to all these schools...

I've got a good start on an article / list combo. As you create additional schools, feel free to add them into the list where you feel it is appropriate.

I just transferred my university article: L?sank?n University on IDUWiki.

I was hoping others would do the same Smile

Also, the president of L?sank?n would like to open a branch of the university in the Free Land of the IDU. It would operate primarily as a school for the children of Antrians living in the area, but would be open to anyone seeking a high-quality education, especially in Antrium-specific majors such as Alv?sin. It would teach many of the majors available at the College of Arts and Sciences at their main campus in Anv?ln, as well as the School of Law.

Students from the main campus would be able to spend semesters there for a more international perspective on subjects such as political science and law.

This also got me thinking about a study abroad exchange program, where IDU universities could sign up to be part of a IDU-wide program to send students to other countries to study. L?sank?n would love to send its students to other countries, especially to be immersed in a specific language, or to study foreign art and architecture, etc. Just another idea.

The idea of a university exchange would be great! Jagera would participate whole heartedly in this.

In the short term, would any of L?sank?n's students be interested in studying at the Universitiet av Kung Ragnar? It's Jagera's premier university, and sited in Anv?ln's sister city of Corben. I'm sure some silver spoons would gripe at having their spots taken by visiting Antrians, but if we could offer them the chance to study abroad as well... ?

Of course! The idea of exchanging students through sister cities seems especially appropriate. This is just another way we can build closer relations between our cities.

Any students at Kung Ragnar are welcome to study at L?sank?n if they should wish to do so.

Hopefully this will mark the beginning of a wider student exchange network. *hint hint*

(P.S. I added a little blurb to the L?sank?n page about it.)

I've just started working out some details about BA's universities, because of their Embassy Exchange Programme (some of the nation's ambassadors are graduates) and their Olympic entries (which include some "varsity" teams). More info to follow...

Does anyone have any problems with this? If not, it will be established shortly.

(We need to flesh out the Free Land a bit, perhaps we should start working on an article.)

(This also serves as a bump.)

Inspired by the [failed-to-pass] GA proposal for founding a 'World University of Peace', the Bears are now -- as has already been mentioned in the RMB-- suggesting the creation of a 'University of International Affairs' as a regional institution. This establishment, which would have its first campus at Democracity in the Free Land, would teach courses in international affairs, history, languages, comparative law, mediation, and other relevant subjects.
Which other nations, if any, are interested in helping to set this up?

You're a member of CIDUS, right? Why not suggest it and make a resolution there?
