Although it did turn out less bad than the title suggests.
Yesterday morning, just before I went to school, the phone rang. Few people know our landline number, so this can't be good. And it isn't. My wife was hit by a car on her bicycle to work. Mild concussion, maybe a rib fracture, rest unknown. Flew a few metres. Nothing lasting it seemed, but I went of to work only to ask whether I could be replaced. Cycled to the station via both our mother's work to inform them.
A bit of a shock to see her in hospital, head fairly bruised. But not as bad as you fear on the way there. A broken clavicle, which is an irritating thing but fortunately for her a clean break so not very painfull, and muscles aching all over but nothing else damaged seriously. She was dismissed by the end of the afternoon.
So that's why I haven't been posting much since yesterday and won't be for the next few days. I've made my election statements anyway
Oh, and she's fine now, walking through the house and pretty much functioning as well as possible with being able to use just one arm properly.

I hope she has a speedy recovery!
