Chancellor Declares Day of Remembrance
By Lira Deacon

Chancellor William Lancaster has declared today a Day of Remembrance. Today is the first anniversary of the Lights Festival Attack, a terrorist attack performed by The Autocratic League for Liberation, commonly known as TALFL, at the Ņuceda Festival of Lights. The Festival has been going on for centuries, usually attracting 25,000 people each day over the three-day festival. The Attack killed 288 civilians and 63 Members of the Guard of The Republic, including Major James Lancaster, the Chancellor's older brother. Major Lancaster and his regiment helped to evacuate the festival, drastically reducing civilian casualties, but he and some of his crew died in the process. Chancellor Lancaster gave a moving speech to start off the festival, as well as the reveal of a stunning mural in the town Square made by the Delacroix husband-wife duo. Our hearts go out to the families of the fallen.

Eiria Divided over Conference
By Jacqueline Alton

Eiria's recent decision to hold a trade conference was initially met with support from many, but not without protest. Many members of the Formido Party have expressed their dismay for the conference. The Party Leader, Senator Alexander Dukov, releases this statement this morning:
"This 'Conference' will do nothing but make Eiria an international babysitter with squabbling children. That is what the Lancaster's want, and that is something I cannot allow to happen". He then goes on about how "The Lancaster Administration has been systematically weakening Eiria. If I were Chancellor, I would never let that happen". Dukov has 3 failed chancellorial runs under his belt, he seems to be gunning for the Chancellor's seat for a fourth time in 2020. Will he make it, or will he be defeated yet again?

Emperor of Xiomera Dead
By Lira Deacon

We regret to inform you than Emperor Topilpopoca had died of his injuries sustained from an assassination attempt. All Xiomeran flags are being lowered to half staff for a period of mourning. The funeral will be held on October Twelfth, and Minister of Diplomacy Alice Lancaster will be attending on the behalf of Eiria. The Chancellor released this statement this morning:
"We are deeply saddened by the loss of Xiomera's Noble Emperor Topilpopoca, and we stand with Xiomera, and offer our assistance for anything they may need".

Support and Condolences for the Emperor's family and friends is pouring in from all over Eiria. Over 60 Senators have already sent condolences, from multiple political parties, and more are soon to follow. It seems that loss is one of the few things that can unite us. We send our condolences to Xiomera, and pray they can overcome this devastating development.

Eirian Factory To Be Built In Shen
By Caleb Frank
The Bureau of Trade and Foreign Economics has announced plans for building a major Tech factory in the Shen Empire. Many top officials have expressed hopes that this will lead to closer relations with the Empire, and that it would help improve the economy of both nations. The announcement comes a day after the Trade Bureau announced a trade deal with Kerlile and trade discussions with Sunemia. It seems that Eiria is becoming an up-and-coming international trade partner.

But these deals aren't without controversy, coming from both sides of the aisle. Senator Alison Legrand, an Eclipse member on the Foreign Relations Committee, made this statement this morning: "While I wholeheartedly support foreign trade, it is also our duty to guarantee the resources we Import come from humane sources". Minority Leader Alexander Dukov said this when we reached out to him for comment: "Economic Growth is a good thing, but we shouldn't have to be dependent on a nation like Kerlile to keep our economy running. Their vile policies of Matriarchal supremacy is a stain on our world". Dukov has expressed anti-Kerlian sentiments before, and he even started the "#BoycottKerlile" Movement last year. More developments are sure to come in, and we'll be reporting on them when they happen.

Yahumi Elected Empress of Xiomera
By Jacqueline Alton

Xiomera now has a new ruler, Empress Yahumi. She was chosen by the delegates of the Great Selection earlier this evening in the famed Huēyi Teōcalli, the beautiful temple dedicated to the Xiomeran Pantheon, and the most holy place within the Xiomeran Empire. Her coronation is set for tomorrow.

In related news, we are informed of the death of Tepilcayotl, Yahumi's main rival, by ritual suicide. This is sadly normal for Xiomeran Politics, and though it may seem Barbaric to the standard Eirian viewer, this practice has survived for centuries, and actually used to be quite worse.

We also have heard a rumor that the attempt on Yahumi's life recently was orchestrated by Tepilcayotl himself, but we don't know the legitimacy of these rumors, or if they come from a credible source. All we know is that he is dead, and Yahumi holds the Obsidian Throne.

Bishop Denounced by Zamastanian Congress.
By Caleb Frank

President Anya Bishop of Zamastan was denounced by her own Congress earlier today for her ordering of military troops to a PoverTea protest, which resulted in the death of 4 protesters. The vote was passed 469-30, with Speaker Foley Sakzi Abstaining. This appears to be the most recent of Bishops transgressions, with her and the Legislature facing several other disagreements earlier this year.

Minister of Diplomacy Alice Lancaster spoke on this subject earlier today from Xiomera. "President Bishop is walking a thin line between support and being deposed. Her order to use the military on protesters clearly states her inability to rule a democracy like Zamastan effectively. In Eiria, she would already be out the door. Her incompetence cost 4 protesters their lives today. I hope the Zamastanian Congress does the right thing and starts the electoral process". The Chancellor also spoke on this, but slightly less aggressively than his twin sister. "I am deeply saddened by the use of the military on protesters by President Anya Bishop. It is a flagrant abuse of power. My heart and prayers go out to the families of the four killed in the clash".

It seems that a big majority of Eiria agrees with the Lancasters' statements. Central Party Leader Justin Olmansēn made this statement when we reached out to him for an interview: "It is ridiculous to use the military on a group of protesters. Such actions are fit for Authoritarian Dictatorships, not republics like Zamastan". Will the Zamastanian Congress launch a vote of no Confidence in Bishop? More developments sure to come.

Provīri Recovering
By Lira Deacon

We received word that the Provīri is recovering nicely after surgery on his shoulder. He was shot yesterday in Liberty Square while speaking about the new drug bill waiting on the Senate floor. The gunman, according to Geminus Chief of Police Joshua Croix, has links to the terrorist group TALFL, A Fascist organization attempt to revert the nation back to what it was before the civil war, but after the coup.

Doctor Jessica Emmett, Chief Surgeon of Compassion Hospital, said this when asked about the Provīri's condition: "He is recovering nicely. The bullet didn't hit anything important, except for scratching the Subclavian Artery, and went in pretty cleanly. The Provīri is very, very Lucky". Everyone here at ENN wishes the Provīri a Calm and quick recovery.

Bishop ousted from Zamastanian Presidency
By Caleb Frank

President Anya Bishop of Zamastan is officially out! On Saturday, Bishop was ousted by the Zamastanian Senate 68-30-2. According to Zamastanian law, once a sitting president is ousted, they may not run for public office for six years. Interestingly, the people who voted for her removal were almost equally split between the major political parties.

Alice Lancaster made a statement about Bishop's removal on Sunday. "I thank the Zamastanian Senate for putting aside party lines and ending Bishop's reign early. I hope Zamastan can recover with a new President to undo the damage of the Bishop Administration".

Across Zamastan, protests have begun to try and get Bishop legally prosecuted. Traffic has grinded to a stop at different places all around Torfino, and several Subway stations are experiencing delays. We also received news that a protester was shot. We don't know about their condition yet, well report once we receive more information.

Senate Denounces Zamastan
By Lira Deacon

Late Yesterday Evening, the Senate Voted to Denounce Zamastan 74-13-3. This comes after major Zamastanian incursions into both Xiomeran and Legionarian Waters. The incident started earlier this week, with Zamastanian ships entering unannounced into Xiomeran waters. The Xiomerans sent some ships to intercept, and they were locked in a standoff.

Xiomera, Rhand, Lauchenoira, Shen, Kerlile, and Now Eiria, have condemned Zamastan's Actions. Zamastanian officials claimed the Xiomerans overreacted and that the condemnations were the international community "Pushing them Around".

Chancellor William Lancaster made gave a speech this morning about this Subject. "I ask Zamastan, President Sazki in Particular, to think about what he is doing. He is gaining a reputation that rivals his Predecessor, and his refusal to do something as simple as apologize has caused all of this. Is this really what is best for Zamastan? If Zamastan de-escalates and apologizes sincerely, we will happily withdraw our Condemnation. Until then, Enjoy the storm, President Sazki, for it is one of your making".

He went on to announce Eiria's attendance of the Catican Conference, hosted by the new Empress, Wu Zhao. Both Lancaster Siblings, Vice Chancellor Leah Stendē, And all four major party leaders have shown disgust at the murders of the rest of the Wu siblings in the succession, but that is a problem for another time.

Levant, Anarchist Haven, Gains Community Status
By Jacqueline Alton

The Montterre Provincial Government announced today that Levant, an Anarchist Village in the Southern Hills of Montterre, has gained sufficient population and income to be classified as a community. Governor James Tesečs made this statement when interviewed:
"We are pleased to welcome Levant into the rank of Community within Montterre. I'm not sure how government with a new Anarchist society is going to go, But you have my word I will try to make it as smooth as possible by cooperating as much as I can with the People of Levant".

Levant, founded in 2018, has grown rapidly up to a stable Population of around 3,000. Many political and infrastructure experts alike were stunned at the rapid growth Levant has made into the prosperous community it is today. Rumors have stated the rapid growth was due to support from the nation of Kvask, but these rumors are unverified.

Since Levant only has 3,000 people, their representation could go one of two ways. The first way, is that they are grouped together with other communities to form the population needed to elect a representative. The Second way, is that they are still grouped together with other Communities, but each community elects a representative on it's own, and the representatives form a council. They vote on a bill when one comes up, and their collective decision counts as one vote.

Recently, Levant has been receiving an influx of new citizens, mainly Eirians who are tired of bureaucracy and politics, and we predict that influx is only going to increase. We believe Levant will grow exponentially in these next few years, however, only time will tell for sure.

Troops Arrive in Vulkaria
By Lira Deacon

This evening, The Eirian Army Command announced that the troops heading on the 'Vulkaria Expedition' have arrived at their base camp successfully without any trouble. Chief General Māris Jansons stated that "Around Eighteen Thousand Eirian Troops, assigned to the new 'Vulkaria Expedition', have arrived in a redacted location in Vulkaria. We wish the honorable and brave troops luck, and we will be helping any way we can to get them back home safe and sound".

The 'Vulkaria Expedition' was announced after the Malvarian Liberation Front, A Vulkarian-based Terror Group, attacked the Central Merēta Convention Center, killing 56 and injuring 213. The Senate voted on the deployment of troops on the third, passing 283-152-15. Lieutenant General Natalie Letālia was selected to lead the expedition. She lead a major part of the Battle of New Riga in the Civil War as a Colonel, Earning the name "Colonel Lethal".

A surprising part about the Senate vote was that the Majority And Opposition Leaders, Alison Legrand and Alexander Dukov, agreed on the vote! It is sad that 56 lives lost is what it takes us to unite, but it is still progress. We wish those fighting in Vulkaria luck and our support.

Election Results Announced
By Jacqueline Alton

Breaking News! The National Elections ended this morning, and the results were just announced. Here are the Results:

Chancellor: William Lancaster, To the surprise of none, won 64% of the vote by the second round, and Shall remain in office.

Senate Seats: The Eclipse Liberal Party won 269 Seats, A loss of two from 2018. The Formido Conservative Party Earned 135, a loss of three. Socialists for Eiria gained two seats for a total of 19, and The Eirian Centrist Party gained Two, for a total of 24. Three Independents were also elected, an increase of one.

Governor Seats: Each party remained with the same number of Governor Seats as in 2018, with Eclipse at 4, Formido at Three, Centrist Party at one, and An independent Governor.

It seems a small shift has started from the big-tent parties to the Socialists for Eiria(SFE) and Eirian Centrist Party (ECP). Is this a sign for things to come, or just a temporary shift? We'll be watching closely at the political stage these next couple years to figure out the answer to that question.

In related news, Formido Party Leader Alexander Dukov has apologized for his frequent arguments with Eclipse Party Leader Alison Legrand, and a few of his comments in said arguments. "I have made many mistakes in my career, and my arguments with Legrand, which would blow up over the simplest things, is one of my main regrets. I also apologise to the Chancellor, for I have not been fair to him, his sister, or his husband. I will do my best to work across the aisle and cooperate with Legrand and the Lancasters from here on out".

Dukov has seemed to mellow over the past few months, bit only time will tell if his promises are genuine.

Artists Hold Auction to Raise Money For Terror Attack Victims
By Caleb Frank

A couple of artists in Merēta are holding an auction this evening to raise money for the families of the victims of the January First Terror attacks all around the world. The couple, Avery and Nathan Resà, are local artists with their own gallery in downtown Merēta, Galerièja Resà, and are well known in the artistic community for their charity work and political art.

The 9 pieces of artwork for sale in the auction this evening are themed as tributes to those who were lost. For example, one depicts the shattered facade of Central Merēta Convention Center adorned with 56 blue roses, one for each person killed in the attack. Proceeds from the auction will be put in a fund for the surviving victims and the families of those lost.

This is not the first time the Resàs have honored the victim of a tragic attack. Last year, they were one of the groups of Artists recruited to paint the inner mural walls of the Ņuceda Attack Memorial. They are part of a new artistic movement in Eiria, which focuses on capturing the emotion of daily politics. We wish the Resàs well on their endeavors.

First Adenovirus Case In Serenity City
By Lira Deacon

Serenity City Health Officials announced this morning that the first Eirian case of Adenovirus has appeared outside Serenity City. The patient is said to have been in Milintica vacationing, and came back home last night. Six people who came in direct contact with this individual are now being quarantined, and the Serenity City Airport First Terminal is currently undergoing decontamination.

Minister of Medicine Doctor James Darana gave a speech in front of a group of assembled press members this morning. "If you are experiencing symptoms, especially if you are near or have been near Serenity City, please visit a doctor immediately. Every moment wasted could result in another person getting infected, and your chances of surviving drastically falling".

Travel was already restricted to Zamastan and other affected nations, and all but forbidden to Shuell, but Milintica, being only recently infected, had not been affected by the regulations. The Health ministry has placed Sheull under Rose Watch, meaning anything or anyone coming from Shuell must be tested thoroughly. We'll see if the infection spreads, or is contained fast enough.

New Political Movement on the Rise
By Jacqueline Alton

A new Political Movement has been on the rise in Eiria, especially among University Students. Called "Center-Moderate Reformism", they believe that moderate beliefs should be reformed, and their main focus is making sure that the systems already in place within Eirian Politics can't be exploited, instead of focusing on further change and reform.

The CMR Movement was started by an anonymous social media activist under the Pseudonym "Delia Crobas". The bio of her account admits three things: That Delia Crobas is a Pseudonym, that she is female, and she makes her career in politics. Judging by the caliber of her debates and arguments, it looks like she is telling the truth. Many theories have emerged that she is any of a wide spectrum of well-known politicians, but only time will tell.

Restricted S-8 Documents leaked, Secret Project Revealed
By Lira Deacon

Two Days ago, an anonymous source sent copies of a Restricted S-8 clearance file to three small Geminus Newspapers. The file describes the creation of a secret group of peacekeepers who would protect Eirian society and steer public opinion of the government in a positive way.

This has many political experts concerned, because if one of the "Einherji" Agents was stationed in high political office, it would give the government power to manipulate the public. The files released were from 1985, so it's possible the current administration either didn't know about these files, or didn't participate in the project. Either way, quite disturbing.

One of the newspapers, the Borean Tribune, claims that the source of these documents was the anonymous political activist with the Pseudonym "Delia Crobas". We do not know if these claims are true, but we have no idea how "Delia Crobas" would get ahold of these documents. We will wait and observe the government's response to this crisis.

Einherjar File explained, Chancellor released additional information
By Caleb Frank

The Einherjar File leaked last week has been the source of much controversy recently, but it's also caused many people to ask: What's the big deal? Well, let's start by explaining what the files say.

The files lay out the formation of a highly-classified organization codenamed Midgard by an appointed high-ranking member of the EICA(Eirian Intelligence and Counterintelligence Association). This person(Given the Codename Odin or Frigg, depending on gender and personal choice) would recruit students who graduated high school and give them the opportunity to be part of a training program. The teachers in this program were codenamed "Valkyries".

Midgard's purpose was to "Protect Eiria from internal threats". The recruits, after an extensive training program, were instructed to take high ranking Eirian positions, such as politicians, journalists, or even Business executives and scientists. Any field they could become a high-ranking member in.

The reason this has spurred controversy is that the Recruits, nicknamed Einherjar, could manipulate the Eirian public if they were ordered to. This would, evidently, conflict Eirian values of Democracy and Political Freedom. We don't know if that actually happened from the original leaked files, though.

Yesterday, the Chancellor, with approval from the Senate, declassified almost all of the rest of the Einherjar files. These new files show that hundreds of Einherjar had been trained between 1985 and 2001. However, in early 1990, Midgard Split from the control of the EICA for reasons unknown and dropped off the grid. They were discovered for a bit in 2001 by the Guard of the Republic, and that's where the most recent files we have date back to.

Unfortunately, the Chancellor also stated that it is unlikely that the documents after 2001 still exist, as they were likely destroyed or very well hidden. Still, it is very concerning that Midgard could still be in operation, and that we don't know what they are up to. We will inform you if there are any further updates.

Senators Form Cooperation Council
By Jacqueline Alton

In a surprising move, Formido Leader Alexander Dukov announced that he was forming a multi-party council to try and increase cooperation and compromise within the Senate. Dukov announced he would be inviting 16 Senators (Including himself), four from Each party, to meet before proposing laws in an attempt to reduce both fighting on the Senate floor and animosity between parties, as well as streamlining the proposing process.

In a press conference this morning, the Senator gave the following statement to ENN: "The Purpose of this council is to increase unity within the Senate and to increase inclusion of all parties in policy. I hope it helps usher in a new era of increased cooperation within politics".

Many Senators have expressed approval for the formation of the council, including Dukov's most frequent rival, Majority Leader Alison Legrand, Who posted this on a popular political forum: "I am impressed by Dukov's apparent change of heart and policy, and I applaud him on this new step in the right direction".

But not all politicians are in approval of this new deliberation council. Senator Jameson Smith, a farther right-wing Senator and a former Dukov supporter, disapproved of Dukov on a radio show. "This new direction if Dukov's policy is ridiculous, and it will not go over well with his base. His attempt to increase cooperation is particularly absurd. I'm not sure what he thinks he is doing, but I hope he reconsiders". We are not sure if this council will succeed, but we wish Dukov well nevertheless.

Climate Protests Launched, Flooded With Support
By Lira Deacon

Huge Gathering of environmental protesters gathered in Liberty Square, Rivière Park, and near the National Archives early this morning, and with permission from the Geminus city council, have set up tents, banners, and even food stands. The protests were started by the Watchdogs of Our Earth, an environmentalist group based out of Lauchenoira. Similar Protests have taken place in multiple countries, such as Kerlile, LOM, Milintica, and Laeral. Similar Protests were also launched in Atlantis and New Riga, with Beaches and Boardwalks becoming gathering spots.

The protest leader from WOE, Elena Moreno, and the Leader of the Confederation of Eirian Environmentalists, Nathan Simone, both announced their plans for protests in Eiria on multiple social media platforms, gaining a bunch of support. An estimated 30,000 people attended multiple protests throughout Geminus, as well as another 5,000 in both Atlantis and New Riga.

The Protesters made multiple demands, including requesting a climate conference within the next year, commitment to zero carbon emissions by 2025, and continued investment in clean energy, among other things. Multiple politicians have responded to the zero emissions demand, calling it unreasonable and impossible. Many Senators have agreed to the other requests made by the protesters, and a couple even made speeches on the steps of the Senate Building, including the Chancellor.

"We will work torwads following through on your requests as best we can, though some of them may be a bit hard to adhere to. I wholeheartedly agree that we need a climate conference, and I assume that with all of the protests going on today internationally, that there will be discussion on a conference in the near future. The environment isn't something we can exploit anymore, and like you are doing today, we need to take action".

Several Senators from all four parties have supported the protesters efforts on Social Media. Others have slammed the protesters, saying that they are "Blowing things out of proportion". Who knows if the Government will make true on these promises of change, but one thing is for certain: Debate on this matter is sure to flare up in the coming days.

We have estimates that twenty-five people were killed in the blast, and thirty more were injured.

The area around the embassy, near the center of Geminus's vibrant 4th District, has been blocked off pending further investigation.

We have reports that TALFL, the Eirian Authoritarian domestic terror organization, has claimed partial responsibility for the attack over social media and Propaganda broadcasts. We do not know who TALFL's reported co-conspirators are at this time, but we will publish more information as it becomes available to us.

Former Kerlian Dissident Speaks Out About Distrust of Kerlian Emigrants
By Lira Deacon

Although the Kerlian and Eirian governments are on the same side of the Xiomeran Civil War, that doesn't mean that the citizens of both nations are trusting or cooperative with each other. Sofia Brown, a former Kerlian Dissident and resident of New Riga, has recently spoken out about the mistreatment of Kerlians living in Eiria.

""I came to this country to get away from the culture of suspicion in Kerlile - where nobody can trust anyone, and suspicion is everywhere. But the way people look at me sometimes reminds me so much of that: of never being able to get close to anyone and I really wish things could change."

Brown is the President of the Kerlian-Eirian Resettlement Initiative, a nonprofit activist organization tasked with taking on the distrust and hatred of Kerlian Emigrants in Eiria. The Initiative, abbreviated "KERI", was founded in April, after the Aurora Scare casted shadows of doubt on all Kerlians living outside of Kerlile. Although they have recently picked up a slew of new members, numbering around two hundred, the group still lacks resources, and are asking for donations.

A small handful of celebrities and politicians have already come out and endorsed KERI. Amara Herrin, the famous Pop singer known for her catchy tunes and elaborate, themed outfits, said this in a social media post about KERI: "It's an amazing cause, one that you don't here about often. It's astounding how much prejudice we can overlook".

The Provirī also came out and made a statement regarding KERI yesterday. "Though the animosity between Eiria and Kerlile has lessened, and even though Sanctions were quietly lifted, the raw feelings still remain. It's honorable that Brown and the Initiative are working towards reducing the animosity."

BREAKING NEWS: Chancellor announces Caxcanan Union discussions before preliminary Senate vote
By Caleb Frank

In a shocking speech given to the press minutes ago, Chancellor William Lancaster revealed that classified negotiations between the Legionite Government and a number of Eirian Senators and Ministers have been going on since April, regarding a potential political and economic union. According to the announcement, prominent Senators and Ministers conversed with dignitaries from Legionas for the first time in April, then various other times in the year. All Senators were either aware of or part of these discussions, and the information was classified S-10 until today.

In conjunction with the announcement, the Lancaster administration released documents, meeting summaries, and drafts that were also declassified today. These include future drafts for Senate bills, as well as ideas for how a union would be structured. According to the released meeting summaries, meetings went over potential Economic, Structural, Legal, and and Jurisdictional features and problems that any potential union would have.

According to early drafts of bills released, the potential Union was unofficially labeled the "Caxcanan Union". Many activists and prominent political experts have expressed optimism regarding the future of this Union. "It's an amazing opportunity to help increase cooperation, trade, and relations in Eastern Caxcana. I hope these discussions go past the hypothetical stage and into development" said Professor Julie Hartman, Professor of International Politics at East Borean University. "It's not going to be easy, or fast, however I believe it will be necessary for our future."

Angelí Celebrations Begin, Pope Angelica gives yearly speech
By Jacqueline Alton

The Unitist Day of Angels is here, and celebrations have begun among the Unitist faithful in Eiria. Ņuceda, often recognized as Unitism's holiest city, is filled to the brim with both crowds of faithful making a pilgrimage and tourists wanting to witness the spectacular festival that occurs in the city. Singing, Dancing, Food Stalls, and life instrumental performances roar throughout the city, and the religious art and literature the city contains is put on display.

Later in the Evening, Pope Angelica entered into the packed Relagèt amphitheatre to deliver the traditional Dusk service to the gathered faithful. "Today is a day of tradition, of rejoicing with the past. However we cannot reject the present or future as well. Between Regional Tension, to promises of Union, to political division at home, our present is full of disunity and Chaos. The point of Angelí is to unite in our differences, and not ignore our problems, but step back and take a new look at them."

We wish everyone Happy Holidays, no matter what you practice!

BREAKING NEWS: Legrand and Dukov resign from Party Leadership following attempted Press Bribery Exposé

The Leaders of the Two Major Eirian Political Parties resigned this morning after an Exposé was published by the Borean Journal. The Exposé détails how both Alison Legrand and Alexander Dukov, both Major Big-Tent party leaders, attempted to give funding to journalists in exchange for journalists writing Articles that diminish the moderate wings of their own parties, as well as the Eirian Centrist Party. The two party leaders had allegedly made a deal to try to win seats for their own sections of the Big-Tent Parties.

Both Former Party leaders announced their resignations this morning in a Senate Press Conference. It should be noted that both Dukov and Legrand still hold the position of Senator, and the resignations only apply to the Majority/Minority leader positions. Investigations have been launched by both the Senate Committee on Improper Conduct and the Ministry of Justice, and a temporary investigative suspension has been issued to both accused parties.

Many Senators and Activists have made statements on these startling accusations. "It's a frightening accusation, and if it's true, it says a frightening amount about the potential for corruption in our Republic. It's appalling that leaders of our country would break the law to try to stab their own party members in the back just to gain Senate Seats." Said Centrist Senate Leader Justin Olmansen, who gave a statement to the press an hour ago.

The Chancellor also commented on the resignations and allegations in a video released to the press. "The accusations levied on Senators Dukov and Legrand are serious and reprehensible, and the resignations following the accusations are even more frightening. If these accusations are proven true, I fully expect the Ministry of Justice to exact punishment how they see fit. Bribery is a serious breach of the Oath of the Republic, not to mention highly illegal. It's a shame that Legrand and Dukov would bring doubt and skepticism on the entire Eirian Democracy like this."

More information will be published when it becomes available.

In a statement early this morning, Katherine Meyer, the de facto Head of the Senate Green Faction, announced the formal secession of the Green Faction from the Eclipse Party. The Green Faction, now known as the Party of Eirian Greens, had been facing argument after argument from the Progressive Branch of their party, who had been struggling to maintain control after Party Leader Legrand's resignation.

In this morning's announcement, Meyer stated, "The Eclipse Party is no longer a respectable place for the Green Party to reside. I mean no offense to my former Eclipse Colleagues, but it's just not a place that my party members and I can remain members of." The Green Party, with fifty-seven Senate Seats, was the smallest Faction of the Eclipse Party, however it is a substantial loss of seats for the Party.

More information will be released when it becomes available.

Chancellor Announces Temporary Coalition, Old Parties Officially Dissolve
December 31st

The state of Political Uncertainty that has engulfed the past couple of weeks has come to a temporary end. Chancellor Lancaster announced a temporary government Coalition agreement late last night between the Greens, Moderate Lefts, Centrists, and Moderate Rights, as well as a small group of dissident Progressives. The agreement, coined "The Serso Agreement", was the subject of two days of secret discussion over the impending Budget deadline on January 15th.

The agreement is the base of a temporary coalition, officially lasting until February 1st, designed to replace the Big Tent Party majority the Eclipse Party held before the Press Bribery controversy broke the shaky bonds that held the coalitions together. Both the Eclipse Party and the Formido Party have been officially dissolved, leaving a power vacuum the "Serso Coalition" hopes to fill.

Both The Moderate Right faction and the Progressive Faction have been split regarding this new coalition. A number of ModRight Senators have refused to attend the Serso Coalition Budget Negotiations, causing a new source of tension for the faction. The new Progressive Party Leadership have also declined to join, mainly because of rising tensions between the Progressive Faction and the Green Faction.

Have a happy New Year!

Chancellor Lancaster Announces Run for Senate Seat Next Term

In a surprising press conference this morning, Chancellor William Lancaster announced that he would not be running for the Chancellor Position in 2022, and instead would be running for an election to the Senate. The announcement was unexpected, and surprisingly somber for Chancellor Lancaster.

"I have loved leading this great nation, and I thank you all for giving me this opportunity to represent you on the world stage. However, I am the youngest Chancellor in history, and I've essentially sped through the normal stages of a political career in about half of the time it would normally take" Lancaster said, having the full attention of the assembled press. "But I will not be running for the office of Chancellor in the next election."

"Now, that does not mean that I am stepping out of politics. I will be running for my former Senate Seat once again, and I hope I can use my experience that I have gained from leading this grand Republic to better serve it in the legislature."

When asked whether or not this was a recent development, the Chancellor stated "We've been discussing this for a couple months now. All of my senior staff knew of my decision beforehand, and I briefed the Coalition heads on the subject a few days ago." Chancellor Lancaster declined to comment on who he think should be elected in his place, saying "We'll have to see who runs. I can't exactly throw my support behind someone when I don't know who's running."

His announcement has caused a lot of discussion among the political community, regarding a future nominee from the Governing Coalition. Many political analysts had already been worried about the instability of the Coalition, and this announcement has brought the Coalition back onto tedious ground. Kathryn Meyer, the Green Party Head, and Lynn Morrin, de facto head of the Coalition Conservatives, have both expressed interest in putting forward a candidate for the Coalition's ticket. "I would like to thank Chancellor Lancaster for his service to our country, and for his continued governance. We will be watching the 2022 election with great interest." Meyer said in an interview with ENN earlier today.

We will be continuing to monitor the situation, and report any new developments.

Eirian Navy Drills in Nereus Sea, Environmental Lobbyists Denounces Xiomeran Island Building
Tuesday, May 11th

Chancellor Lancaster announced this morning that the Naval contingent stationed in New Riga's Fort Agrippa has begun a set of drills in the Nereus Sea, in response to Xiomeran building operations on and around Antepec Island. "Effective immediately, the ships stationed at Fort Agrippa will be operating at a state of increased activity in the Nereus Sea. This includes a great increase in drills and patrols from Agrippa and the other northern naval bases, including Forts Salliere, Perenelle, and Davis. These measures are strictly preventive, and are set on maintain security in the Nereus Sea."

Joshua Lacewick, the Chancellor's PR Manager, took questions on the new naval activity after the Chancellor gave the initial briefing. When asked if these plans were enacted as a result of the Xiomeran construction on Antepec Island, Lacewick stated “The new plans are just the beginning of an effort to maintain the balance of power in the region. If any major players in Eastern Caxcana attempt to disrupt said balance, we will authorize adequate measures to maintain security, in accordance with the Jinyu Agreement. Our priority is peace, and we will work to protect the hard-fought armistice in the region.”

Many Eirian environmental organizations have denounced the activities in the Nereus Sea, citing the damage that artificial island building could do to local ecosystems. “These new building endeavors are a destructive and selfish effort by a government that has a long history of disdain for the environment.” Christan Valiere, President of the Seawatch marine environment advocacy organization, released in an online statement. Seawatch, along with Project Sea Survival and the Preservation of Eirian Wildlife Association, have reportedly begun the "Free the Sea Initiative", a project set on radically increasing activism focusing on marine environments.

An anonymous source from Project Sea Survival has reported that the Free the Sea Initiative would include actively interfering with the construction of artificial islands in the Nereus Sea, as well as numerous marches on major ports and factories attributed with producing a great amount of the pollution that ends up in the ocean. None of the Free the Sea organizations accepted our invitation to comment on the allegations.

Coalition Leaders Debate on 2022 Chancellor Nomination - Who Will Succeed Lancaster?

The Heads of the Serso Coalition Parties hosted a conference on Saturday at the Arquette Convention Center, focusing on the future of the Governing Coalition. Invitees included leaders from many of the most influential political action committees and worker unions in Eiria, as well as influential activists and retired politicians. Among those in attendance were Former Chancellor Cera Badolis, Former Eirian Liberty Defence Council Chairman Joseph Krause, and Retired Governor Deanna Barre.

Although the conference was closed off to the public, the main topic of discussion was, reportedly, the 2022 Chancellorial Election. Which begs the question: With the government being led by a Coalition, who is even able to be elected?

With such a diverse coalition, forming an electoral alliance will be crucial for the coalition members if they want to secure the Chancellory. They face fierce competition from both the left and the right, on top of heated internal conflict. Although there have been no official releases on who will be running, here's who we anticipate as possible candidates:

Vice Chancellor Leah Stendē: Being the current Vice Chancellor, Leah Stendē is the projected most likely candidate for Chancellor. Having served as Vice Chancellor for almost six years, she would have the most experience regarding recent Executive positions, as well as the most name recognition, and the most support from the Eirian Left.

Senator Lynn Morrin: As the De Facto Leader of the Serso Moderate Right, Lynn Morrin has a small backing among the Serso Coalition. However, she is rising in popularity with right wing voters, and her debating skills are renowned throughout the Eirian political circuit.

Senator Justin Olmansēn: The newer leader of the Centrist Party, Olmansēn isn't a big name for voters, but he is incredibly popular in the Senate for his wordsmithing and negotiation tactics. He would serve as a good political compromise for the Coalition, and he would attract the most voters from the Coalition itself.

Senator Mira Castillo: Another obscure name on the Executive scene, Castillo is another Senator who has constructed numerous compromises and negotiations in the Senate. Nicknamed "Sister Mira", her support is crucial for passing bills and negotiating changes. She also serves as another Center-Left Senator, although she represents the Centrist Party.

Governor Brian Christophé: The Governor of Serenity Province, Christophé runs the province with the biggest land area, as well as the most agricultural development. He served as a crucial negotiator for provincial agricultural law, and his Moderate Left policies served to appease both sides of the political aisle.

This is by no means a complete list of possibilities, these are just a few of the likely candidates from what limited information we have. More information will be published once it becomes available.

Trade Deal with Milintica Passes Senate, earns Chancellor's Signature

In the final vote today, the proposed trade deal with Milintica was passed 315-94. The vote held an astonishing 41 abstentions, mostly coming from Progressive Senators and a few Serso members skeptical about some particular details of the bill.

The deal, pioneered by the Chancellor and Milintica's President Matōchmizalo, would allow Eirian companies to sell much-needed consumer goods and electronics to Milintican consumers. In exchange, Milintican natural goods, specifically metals like tin, lead, and zinc, can be sold to Eirian companies. In addition, Milintican companies can introduce goods and Restaurants to Eirian markets, such as a vegetarian meat substitute branded Milimeat, or chains of Milintican Restaurants.

Many Eirian business leaders have expressed support for the new agreement, excited for the opportunity to cater to a new foreign market. "It's an unprecedented opportunity, especially in a place like Milintica." Says Janis Melbārdis, Owner of the popular Eirian restaurant chain 'Iveta's Ladle'. "The Milintican Economy, although socialized, is full of potential for economic gain. A whole new market, full of curious consumers longing for new products… it's a businessperson's dream."

Some economists, such as Elena Volkov, Professor of Economics at the Vaughn Institute in Central Geminus, believe that this trade deal is only the beginning of new prosperity in the region. "Opening up a near-isolated economy will have tremendous positive effects on the region's economy as a whole. And I doubt any of the leaders in the region will let this opportunity go to waste." She said in an interview with ENN. "I have a feeling this is only the beginning of new economic opportunities in Caxcana."

Defecting Xiomeran Athletes Granted Temporary Asylum In Eiria

In a standard announcement this morning, Minister Alice Lancaster announced that the Minister of Diplomacy has granted two Xiomeran Athletes temporary asylum while their applications are processed. "We are following all of the regular procedures as these applications are processed."

When asked about the likelihood that Metotoa, a Basketball athlete, and Cihitlina, a Fencer, would be approved for political asylum, Lancaster said this: "It would be unprofessional of me to speculate. However, that being said, they have met the Significant Danger status for temporary asylum. Regardless of if their applications are approved, according to Eirian law regarding refoulement, we cannot force them to return to Xiomera."

Minister Lancaster also commented on Xiomeran Prime Minister Toquihu's statements saying that the athletes had been "Brainwashed" and "Kidnapped" by the Eirian Government. "No member of any Eirian governmental agency has brainwashed or kidnapped any member of the Xiomeran Olympic Delegation. Such accusations are preposterous, and more suited for conspiracy theorists than elected officials. We cannot and have not controlled a single Xiomeran athlete. We invite the International Olympic Committee to investigate, if they so wish. But such an investigation would be a waste of time and resources."
