New BBCode

In addition to the existing align codes, I have installed the float code, which work the same way as the float code on the NS forum. Allowing you to format your posts to your hearts content.

Do the color coding BBCodes work here? I believe I posted a thread on that some years ago; and I know it does work on other phpBB forums I use, including one that I am currently a Global Mod at.

When you say colour coding, do you mean changing the colour of font?

Yes.

Here's the link to the Zetaboards Support page that I found years ago (2011, to be exact):

If these are functional here, I can transfer the list from a post I used elsewhere so all the choices are readable.

I'm not sure the codes they advertise there would be applicable on this new software - there are very slight differences in the underlying html, as you can see from all the old broken quote BBCodes I have to clean up! I think that colour choices available may also differ.

But the good news is that changing font colour is already possible! Please see below.

Code:
[color=Hex Code]{TEXT}[/color]

Alternatively, when typing you can highlight your text and then click the tear drop icon beside the resize text drop down. A colour chart will appear and you can pick the colour you want.

Let me try transferring a post I made from a non-Zetaboards phpBB forum and see what happens, then. If it doesn't work at all, I'll delete it, and if some work and others don't, it can always be edited.

I'm not sure I'm understanding you correctly, but if you are saying we should have a list somewhere of what colours are available to change your text into, I don't believe that's necessary - the software takes care of that! Smile

If you take a look at my screenshot below, the UI already gives a great sample of what colours you can choose for your text.

Screenshot:

As you can see, once you click the tear drop, a selection of colours is displayed. And if the one you want isn't there, you can google the hex code for it! It seems to be a really handy tool.

One advantage to using names is to make sure one is using the same color, those grids can be hard to distinguish. Here, these color names do work, but you have to uncheck the "disable BBCode" in the options box that is immediately below the post text box.

This is what I copied at another phpbb software forum, with no problems.
Code:
[color=NAME_OF_COLOR] TEXT BEING COLORED[/color]
This will generate the text in that color in the post text composition box, be sure to include the close color tag at the end of the text that you are coloring:

Thanks Grosse.

If you hover over the teardrop icon in the text box, it also tells you that you can use the colour name, as well as the Hex Code.
