Idu Olympics 2011, Rules And Sign Up
#1

Finally! The first in what I hope will be a long line of IDU Olympic Games.

We will need at least 4 (hopefully many more!) participating nations. Each nation will be required to submit a single 15 person team roster along with its specialties and abilities (the more detailed the better) and a single sport from their nation (including the rules if there is no earth equivalent.) Every team will then participate in each game in turn (though the same team members need not participate in all events such as one event requiring 12 players and another requiring only 3) with scores based on my own computational method adjusted for quality of RP, familiarity of the team with the game, and team abilities as described. The total scores will be used to determine event ranking, with an average of all scores determining final Olympic Rankings. Think of it as a triathalon form of Olympics.

The Free Tribes of Sidh Ohn are proud to host the first Olympic games of the International Democratic Union. As such we present the following contest to the games:

Teiglach - A traditional Ohn contest, Teiglach involves Ohn packs riding through dense forests at high speeds while shooting at small moving objects such as rabbits, birds, etc. Victory is determined by the highest number of accurate shots, kills, and least injuries sustained by other pack members or their wolves. For the Olympics, teams will be limited to 10 members using paintball rifles and riding the mounts of their choice while shooting at small motorized targets that have been placed throughout a specially designated section of forest near the base of the Ohn mountain capital of Sleibh Cathaird.

Further we submit our Olympic Team for participation in these illustrious events:

Fadareath (Notable for his exceptional endurance)
Morlahm (Of Tharn stock he is very large and physically powerful)
Gaotsciadh (Known for her fast reflexes)
Preac'suil (Notable for her keen perceptive and tactical abilities)
Beact'raidh (A renowned marksman)
Mearcos (Known among the Ricataor for his running speed)
Cintelann (A Muircine close combat specialist)
Ahnaithnidh (A lover of foreign sports)
Muinfiun (Known for his excellent teamwork)
Stalcach (Known for her refusal to give up or let those around her do so)
Fahd'goin (An older, more experienced member)
Glaseal (Known for his hunting and intercepting abilities)
Fuilcrahg (A younger and more energetic member)
Litiragart (Considered by many Ohn to be a sort of walking good luck charm)
Morchu (Well balanced and known for his overall leadership qualities)

The Ohn have taken to calling this team "Sidh Ohn Foir", which translates roughly "The team of the Ohn people."

Now that this board is back, is there anyone who might be interested in this once some of our individual RP's die down?
#4

Maybe. The main NS Olympics are currently underway, but (because of tax levels, even for visitors, in the host nation) the Bears didn't send as many entrants as usual to those...
#5

Hmmm... would still need at least two more of us to make this any kind of event...
#6

Can we maybe try and revive this?
#7

NS Winter Olympics are starting fairly soon now, sign-ups are open, and I plan on sending people to those: Don't think that I'd have enough time for both, unfortunately...
