Mikitivity on NSWiki
#1

This thread is where I'll point you to the working NSWiki entries for my country. When I type geographical and international political / cultural issues, I'd love to link to other IDU nations. Please feel free to post in this thread to point me to things from your nation that you feel are appropriate for connections / links! Smile

DunkelSchloss

http://ns.goobergunch.net/wiki/index.php/DunkelSchloss

I'm planning on creating entries for a number of other castles in the IDU. Furthermore, for those of you with the Thuvian mountains running through your territory, I'd like to suggest that several hundred years ago that there were castles all over the place.

For the DunkelSchloss and Eckstein family, I'm planning on writing more about their exploits into neighboring regions. The old Ecksteins were not well liked, and were eventually part of the reason that the city states joined together and occupied Vaditz, the seat of the Ecksteins.

I'd also now like to request that an EVIL flag for the Ecksteins be created. Smile Black and red, perhaps with a dragon claw or hydra.

How far do the Thuvian mountains extend? For example, are the mountains in DataGenesis part of this range?

If someone could really help me with the wiki entry for Pagemaster, it would really be appreciated. What I have on there isn't much but then again I don't have as much imagination as you guys when it comes to this sort of thing.

Geographically speaking ... I think the best answer is: it depends. They'd need to be continuous, and for that we'd probably need to look at the map. Smile

Here is a crop of the geographical map ...

So if we want to say that the portion linking the higher mountians is still mountain, then I'd say the Thuvians span all the way into the Schnauzerlands. Smile

The mountains in the eastern schnauzerlands are known as the Silver Mountains. The mountains in the western schnauzerlands (not shown in Mik's graphic above) are known as the Black Mountains.

Let's start small ... write an entry about the Victory River. Is it important for travel? Does it pass through other IDU members? Does your national animal live near it? Does it flood?

Ok.So. Howabout we do it this way.

Anyone witha claim to a particular geographic feature can suggest names or whatever. I've "????" some of the more obvious ones that pertain to those in this discussion at the moment.

That is very helpful. At present, all those other features don't like in Mikitivity, so I'm a bit hestitant to suggest what their names may be. The Risdan River might be a river that enters the lake that borders Mikitivity and Sober Thought.

On a related note:

If your country has an airline company or airport, if you reply here, I'll add it to the NSWiki post above.

I'll soon be working on Eule Luft.

Here are some names for bodies of water:

The body of water between Grosseschnauzer and Kesslandia is Democracy Bay.
The body of water that goes from the western shore of Grosseschnauzer to the northern shore of the Schnauzer States and goes to the north and northwest is the West Union sea.
Finally the body of water on the north shore of Keeslandia and headed to the north and northeast from there is the East Union Sea.

Unfortunately both the major mountains ranges in my country have now been named. However working along Miktivity's lines, instead I would create a history following Miktivity's suggestion of castles.

If possible, I would thus like to make the mountain M2 (as shown by Domnonia's example with the lettering) a single mountain (not range) known as Mt Arias. (pronounced arr-ee-ass) if other nations allow. Of course in time when i get time I will create a history for my nation based on castles etc based on this name.

Since the valley v1 is entirely within my country, I would like to name it "Valley of Roses" which will also become clear in time.

I had requested to slightly extend my nation down towards the bottom of Domonia's example map in another thread because this would reflect how my nation had been described previously, because another nation in that area needs to be deleted. However this has not occurred yet (at all)?. If it does occur i would also name the bay/inlet w-4 as "Bay of Roses".

This seems fun. Thanks Miktivity! Smile

I might have pictures of Lake Geneva that I could use for the Bay of Roses if you like, then we could create a very basic NSWiki entry.

In the sort term, make a geography section for your main NSWiki entry and just list these features. Heck, I need to start this with Mikitivity's entry!

Datagenesis. Sorry for missing your request.

If I remember correctly, you wanted to extend your borders south in order to obtain a larger coastline?

I'm just going to go with that. It should be up within the hour.

Oh, any ideas on what to name the river that defines your eastern border?

I can name the river as well if you would like, however since it is not entirely in my nation and is longer perhaps someone else would like to? If not, I will think of something :-)

Rivers can and do change names. The River Rhine is a classic example of this:

Rhine -- English
Rhein -- German
Rhin -- French
Rijn -- Dutch
Rein -- Romansch

The Rhine orginates in Switzerland, in Romansch territory, and flows through many nations.

I'd say go ahead and name it, and then I'll put a stub up there for it. Also decide if it supports barge traffic or not. We can steal a picture or use one of my few Rhine pictures ...

I also can easily grab pictures of the nearby Sacramento River for anybody, but that would be fitting for a flat country with a semi-arid climate.

The longest reach of the River that travels from the Thuvians and then north, then west, then South, into several lakes, and finally ends up in "W2", is the Risden River. I'll be placing Miervatia in the "M" in Thuvian Mountains, on the point where the Risden meets the other yet-unnamed river. I think. But certainly please consider that the Risden River.

Furthermore the mountain range to the south east in Mikitivity is called the Solace Mountains. I believe these border with Sober Thought and the Free Lands of the IDU.

I've started a new thread to facilitate geographic features so as not to take over Mik's NSWiki Entry thread completely.
