I've overlapped how I protect my computers from popups. First I use Firefox except for Windows/Microsoft updates. I have Norton installed on both computers, and I use Yahoo mail for email. It scans all email before I can open or download email, and the Yahoo Tool Bar contains a link to a free anti-spy software.

It seems crazy to do it that way, but it seems to be the best way to minimize risks.
