I didn't chime in, nor did I post a copy of the original resolution here ... the original's text was pretty simple. Personally, I don't like ultra simple resolutions ... or should I say non-graceful resolutions, but the point in my mind has been to *encourage* the use of a standardized system. This doesn't preclude the use of domestic systems as well, but when we are talking about ship and air traffic, having *tools* that are standardized sizes can and will save lives ... which is enough for me to cast my nation's vote in favour of keeping the original resolution by OPPOSING the repeal.
That said, I don't feel very strongly about this ... meaning I've not outlined my position in the UN forum, though I've been working on a draft for another resolution (this one is based on an idea posted by North Suffolk ... whom may have lost interest in the game). Anyways, I am interested to see how the vote turns out.
