As usual, AI, you're a genius. I never got into sports in RL or RP, and I missed this one because of its title. Well done, sir.
In the last cup, I only consented to joining the office pool if we simply drew lots and if the two or three odd teams out won, the money would go to one of the office charities (it was a big office at a Crown corporation, and apparently a terrorist target in the recent mass arrest). The boss drew Senegal, and was surprised when it advanced to the next round before being crushed.
Again, showing our differing biases, World Cup fever to me -- living in Toronto, a large, multicultural city with hugh expatriate communities for at least a dozen of the contenders -- means I get to play spot the flag for a few weeks. During the papal visit, my expertise was actually useful for once.
