Much like the nation they represent, the Huenyan team is a mix of promise, problems and progress. The Huenyans did far better than expected in the last Football Championship, and are hoping to build on that performance. But with funding and facilities still lagging behind their IDU peers, and with limited international experience, the Blue and Whites will have to hope that their eagerness, fighting spirit and pride can do a lot of heavy lifting against some formidable foes.
Tactics: Huenyan teams prefer balance to focusing too much on either offense or defense. A more even-paced, methodical style of play is preferred to slow high-flying opponents' offenses down. The goal is to give the Huenyans' own offense time to find vulnerabilities in the opposing defense and take advantage of them without being overwhelmed on the scoreboard. The Huenyans are also very likely to get a little physical (but not dirty) on defense to slow things down to their pace.
Rivalries: Xiomera. Xiomera. Xiomera. The Huenyans like and get along with pretty much everyone else. But any match against Xiomera will be treated like a championship match, whether it is or not.
Fans: Huenyan fans tend to be friendly and affable towards other fans, even sharing souvenirs, food and drink with them. Huenyans treat matches as a big party, and a chance to celebrate with everyone. Expect lots of horns, banners, flags, posters and cheers/chants to go with the party atmosphere.
The one exception to the above rule is with Xiomeran fans, and the hosts are advised to have a significant police presence around should the two fanbases run into each other.

Les Grands Saladiens are the definition of "we're just happy to be here." The Saladian team consists of players drawn from the only two football clubs in the country (Port Salad FC and their rivals, Oar's End AC). They, and their fans, have zero expectations that they will actually win the championship. They will, in fact, be happy to win a game (or two, if one is really ambitious in their thinking). The Saladians are just here to enjoy a trip abroad, have fun with everyone else, and bring the spirit of their kooky little island chain to Lauchenoiria.
Tactics: Defense? What's defense? The Saladians practice what they call the pas allègre (happy step) school of football. Run fast all the time, try to score as often as you can, and drive your opponent crazy trying to keep up. It's not so much strategy as the football equivalent of telling a six-year old to wash a cup of sugar down with a mega-size energy drink, and then setting them loose onto a field.
Rivalries: Literally no one. Not even the Xiomerans.
Fans: The Saladians are just there to party and enjoy some football. Saladian fans will be the first ones to show up when the bars open, and the last ones to leave once they've drunk them dry. They will be the ones dancing with each other (and the other team's fans, if they let them) in the stands. They will compete with the Huenyans to see who can throw the biggest pre or post-match celebrations. They don't do hooliganism or fights, because that "ruins the vibe, man". If you're lucky, the Marquis himself might show up at your post-match drinkfest.
