I ABSTAIN on principle, because philosophically I still can't accept a repeal without the better replacement in force.
I note, however, that some of the more absurd old resolutions are finally being cleaned out, among them DVD regional coding. I thought it truly bizarre that people had not thought that one out: if there were no regional coding, then an artist, bookseller, etc. would have to charge the WORLD price, not a smaller regional market price, for each and every item. Fine for people who are going worldwide, but not so fine for the many more who only want a part of the world.
