To say that Christine Belle was livid would be an understatement. It had all started when the Golden Blade had brazenly attacked the capitol of Huenya, and assaulted the Green Zone. Despite the best efforts of the secuitry team, an attack on the Acadian Embassy was successful, and most of the staff had been kidnapped. Now, their faces were all over the internet, posted up on ransom videos. One of which Christine had been watching on her office computer. One John Ritagowski, looking somewhat worse for wear, sat on his knees, arms bound as a masked Golden Blade terrorist read out their list of demands.
Cancel all aide to Huenya, military, economic, and humanitarian. Remove all diplomatic relations, including all consulates or embassies. Recognize all Golden Blade, and by extension Xiomeran, claims to the country.
Christine clenched her fists, her knuckles turning white. Taking a deep breath, she grabbed her office phone and quickly dialed an extension.
"Get me a line to Xiadani yesterday." She practically growled the minute the phone was answered.
As far as she was concerned, the kids' gloves were coming off. All she needed was for Huenya to play ball.

Michel Francois walked calmly through the halls of the Chancellor's manor with his aide, Maria Stevenson, at his side. He'd visited a few times before to speak with Chancellor Stendē, though this time he wished it had been under better circumstances. Fellow Ambassadors, this time to Huenya, had been kidnapped. Word had it that Interim PM Belle was apoplectic behind closed doors at the situation. Now he was being summoned to speak with the Eirian Chancellor. About what he, frankly, had no idea. Part of him hoped for offers of support in locating their missing people. Though if he had to explain why Acadian security had failed, frankly he didn't have all the answers.
He approached the door leading to Stendē's office, where two guard stopped him and his aide and checked their security clearance. It was routine, and the guard made a show of really inspecting the documents presented before handing it back.
"The Chancellor is waiting for you, Mr. Francois." He said.
Michel nodded to him before the doors were opened and he was lead inside.
He cleared his throat. "Good morning, Madam Chancellor. You asked to see me?"
