The Filament Steel was named approximately 34 years ago, in a meeting with higher-up members of the BID. The idea for the Filament Steel had long since been in the works and the first mission was well into its planning stage. And only now had they realized they still hadn’t come up with a name.
The problem was that most terrorist organizations have a reason behind their name. Part of their founding, their message, their religion, their hatred. The BID was, for all intents and purposes, devoid of any of that. Sure its generic message of “freedom of information at any and all junctures” was a pivotal part of what helped the facade, but there was no character behind it, and the BID had waffled on the topic for months. Should they gather a stronger personality? Should they invoke a religious or political group?
But here they were, with time slowly waning and pressures beginning to mount. And instead, they wrote a name intended to inspire fear. Thematically aligned with their focus on hacking, information, and fear.

Mindy smiled as the single Golden Blade agent approached.
“Do we know them, Hal?”
A tall, gaunt man typed furiously at a computer, looking for a match within their vast facial recognition database.
“It appears we do. Cihuaxoche, she’s a fellow agent for the Xiomeran offensive.”
“Oh good. I was hoping they wouldn’t send a lackey.”
She clicked a button on the panel beside her and watched as the gates swung open to let the agent inside.
“Let’s make a lovely first impression, lassies.” came another voice, this one from Kila, their head propagandist and diplomat
The men and women and everything in between each stood or sat at attention, watching, listening to the agent’s footsteps as she climbed the stairs. Finally, she entered, and Mindy broke into another grin.
“Hello dear.“ she said, standing up and shaking the woman’s hand, “Crazy day out there, isn’t it? How about we make it crazier?”
