The Kaijan Affair
#71

The rebuilding efforts had been going on for months by the time Mohamed Namer came home, he had joined the Kaijan League and was coming home for the first time since he left the town of Hasmala. He left in October just a few weeks before the attack of the Kaijan City Airport, since then he trained then fought for the Kaijan League. However, he was one of those captured during a small raid on an outpost in Early December. He then was sentenced and spent 3 months in jail, and for the next year, he would have to do community service hours. However, for now, he could go home he unlocked the door to his family home.

Inside he mother was making bread while his father the local emir for the small mosque nearby sat at the kitchen table working on various papers.
"There you are Mohamed," his mother said
"Son, I dont know what I should do, welcome you home or ask to never come back," he said
"I just ask for forgiveness from you, I made a severe and prolonged lapse in my judgment"
"Dont, fool with me son, I know when your lying"
"Can I stay?" he asked
"Until you get a job, then you're on your own, inshallah," his father said
"Thank you, father"
Across the street, at the post office, a crowd had gathered, except nobody was returning alive, rather 2 men who had left and died in the war, however for different sides. The one who a police officer would be taken back and be buried at a site in Kaijan City where other officers were also being put to rest.

However, the young man who fought for the Kaijan League would be buried in the town graveyard among the various dead over the years. The prayers began before the body would be moved to the burial site and be buried by his family and then flowers would then scatter over the grave and then rose water be poured over the grave. However as well the body of the police officer would be viewed the moved away as a memorial to the officer was built out of flowers and put next to the house of his family. Two dead men both coming home yet they fought for different sides and would be laid to rest in different places.
