Emperor Xochiuhue leaves the XIN broadcast center after his announcement to the nation
In a speech broadcast from the Palace of Flowers, Emperor Xochiuhue accused the governments of Kerlile, Eiria and Legionas of "launching an undeclared war" against the Xiomeran Empire. The Emperor announced that "as of today, a state of war exists between these nations and the Xiomeran Empire" and ordered a general mobilization of all Xiomeran active-duty and reserve forces. The Emperor has also ordered Xiomeran arsenals to arm civilian militias loyal to his government, preparing to send them to the front lines to boost his forces. Xiomeran defense officials confirmed that a major redeployment of Xiomeran forces will take place to stop any further advances at Zapotlán, where an allied force has begun securing the strategically vital link between western and eastern Xiomera.
"These foreign powers, under the guise of supporting their puppet regime and the figureheads of the senile Yauhmi and the corrupt Texōccoatl, are attempting to seize on this moment of struggle and difficulty for our Empire. They think we are in a moment of weakness, and that they can take advantage of that effort to their own gain. We shall prove them wrong. Xiomerans are at their strongest when they are facing adversity. We shall push these foreign invaders back from our shores, and then we will crush the seditionist puppet movement that they are backing," the Emperor declared. The Emperor ended his speech by urging Xiomerans to unite and join his government to resist what he labeled "an act of unparalled foreign aggression against our people."
In Chuaztlapoc, the loyalist government of Empress Yauhmi announced that they have made Chuaztlapoc the "temporary capital" of Xiomera, and began raising pressure on Xiomeran soldiers to switch sides. Where the loyalist government had previously made appeals of a more subtle nature, recent statements from Chuaztlapoc have begun to warn the Xiomeran armed forces, as well as civilians loyal to Xochiuhue, that there is "no possible way" Xochiuhue can win - and that there will be consequences after his government falls for those who fail to switch sides. "Don't tie your future to that of a doomed man," propaganda messages from Chuaztlapoc have said directly to Imperial troops. The loyalist government has also dismissed Xochiuhue's call for a general mobilization, instead demanding that Xiomeran forces halt all offensive actions and begin accepting orders from Chuaztlapoc.
Massive uprising reported in western Xiomera
Reports have emerged of a massive uprising currently taking place in western Xiomera, in what appears to be a further setback for the government of Emperor Xochiuhue.
DTNS reporters have received reports that the uprising began on the morning of September 28th, after prisoners in recently established "public safety" camps in the Necatli region began attacking their guards and seizing control of the facilities. Reports indicate that three of the seven camps in the Necatli region have been totally taken over by their former prisoners, with several guards taken captive and others fleeing the facilities. Unrest appears to be spreading to several other camps in various parts of Xiomera as well. There have also been reports that three camps in the Itotemoc region have been "liberated" by armed forces loyal to the government of Empress Yauhmi.
The controversial "public safety" camps were established by the government of Emperor Xochiuhue in response to opposition to the military coup that placed him in power. Originally begun in the Necatli region, "public safety" camps were later established in the rest of the Xiomeran Empire, ostensibly to detain "terrorists". Opposition leaders and foreign observers have accused the government of Emperor Xochiuhue of using the camps for the mass detention, punishment and torture of protesters, opposition members, ethnic minorities and loyalists to the deposed Empress.

Drug raid near Kvask border nets seven arrests
As reported in the Lauchenoirian Guardian, seven Lauchenoirian citizens have been arrested by the Lauchenoirian Drug Enforcement Agency on drug smuggling charges after a raid on a property two miles west of the Kvaskm border. Lauchenorian officials believe that those arrested had recently returned to Lauchenoiria over the border with a large quantity of illegal drugs.
The seven members of the smuggling gang have been remanded in custody pending trial due to previous convictions and the likelihood of fleeing to Kvask if bailed. A provisional date for the trial has been set for October 17th, and Lauchenoirian officials indicate that more arrests are likely.
Pro-drug legalization groups held demonstrations in Usera and Liaville following news of the arrests.

Maximusian officials deny involvement in Pierre kidnapping
In a brief statement, the government of Libertas Omnium Maximus has denied any involvement in the recent kidnapping of Olivia Pierre, the daughter of Councillor Pauline Pierre of Kerlile. The Maximusian government has also denied any knowledge of who may be behind the kidnapping.
The brief statement read as follows: "The Maximusian government unequivocally denies having any hand in the kidnapping of Olivia Pierre. It was obviously a set-up by hostile foreign agents or non-state actors. We are actively investigating the event and are committed to recovering Pierre and bringing the perpetrators of this heinous crime to justice."
No further elaboration on the matter has yet been issued by the Maximusian government, but Maximusian officials indicated that further action is expected at a later time.
The diplomatic row between Kerlile and Libertas Omnium Maximus was sparked by the release of a video by an unknown Maximusian group showing Olivia Pierre being held captive and threatened. In response, the Council of Kerlile accused the Maximusians of contravening the Haven Accords, and has called for sanctions.
