GAME WEEK 4 RESULTS

Lauchenoiria vs Eiria
The Eirians managed to demolish the Lauchenoirians in a magnificent 1-3 Victory at the Mara X Arena. The game got off to a slow start with both teams feeling each other out. A shot in the 32nd Minute from Caelan Potter just grazed the post, forcing the keeper to go into an alert state. The deadlock was broken in the 42nd Minute when Gutierre Antúnez went on a brilliant solo run, capitalizing on his speed to weave through the Argonaut defence, slotting home magnificently into the bottom right corner.

The second half saw the Argonauts moving further forward, quickly realizing the fragility of the Lauchenoirian defence. The Eirians, while being completely dominant during the second half, could only manage an equalizer in the 82nd Minute, when Luc De Leroy managed to slot home a placed shot having beaten his man, leaving him with enough space.

The game moved into extra time with both teams exhausting their substitutions. Calamity struck for the Lauchenoirians when Lino Chavarría clumsily tackled Luc De Leroy in the box, getting sent off in the process and conceding a penalty which was soon capitalized by Jack Kelley. The Lauchenoirians, having used up all their substitutions, were forced to stick Joey Gorbold in goal. The Eirians soon added their lead with a free-kick from Luc De Leroy ending up in the net. The rest of the game saw both teams sit back and play out the rest of the game.

Laeral vs Gnejs
The Gnejsians managed to come on top against the Laeralites in a tense 0-1 victory at the LegionAir Arena. The match got off to a fierce battle in the middle of the park with both teams sparring in the midfield. The deadlock was broken in the 20th minute with Jack Wiijk blasting the ball into the top left corner of the net after capitalizing on a loose ball 25 yards out. The two teams continued their fierce contest, with brilliant teamwork being shown on both sides.

The second half saw the Laeralites, wary of defeat, going all out attack. The Gnejsian defence displayed a collective man of the match performance, with Kjetil Åkervik in particular being sensational between the sticks. By the 80th minute it became increasingly clear that the Dandelions would not be broken. The Laeralites resorted to trying to force fouls in dangerous positions. In the 93rd minute the prayers of the Laeralites were answered when a handball foul from Stefan Kjeller granted them a penalty. The man who stepped up was Aurélien Launay, an experienced spot kick technician. He ran up for the shot, but a horrific slip led to his shot flying metres wide. The Laeralites were distraught, having seen their chance of potentially moving the game to extra time broken. The game soon ended, with the Dandelions erupting in cheers at the expense of the Laeralites.

Trive vs Cape Auria
The Cape Aurians managed to stun the on form Trivians in a controversial 1-2 victory at Rhodes Park. The Cape Aurians soon broke the deadlock with a 22nd minute free-kick from Justin Donner rifling in past the keeper. The Trivians came close to equalizing soon after, but a shot from Markus Fedorov ricocheted off the crossbar. The two teams at that point seemed evenly matched, with no more clear-cut chances being created within the rest of the second half, thanks mostly to the efforts of both team defenses.

The second half saw much of the same from both sides, with play being mostly concentrated in the middle of the park. In the 62nd minute a foul in the Cape Aurian box led to Aleksandr Kusnetzov slotting home a panenka penalty, much to the celebration of the Trivan Fans. The rest of the second half saw both teams push harder, creating chance after chance, but to no avail.

Extra Time saw one of the most controversial moments of the day, with The Trivian side being denied a goal due to VAR. A scuffle ensued, with Reese Sykan and Mikhail Volkov being sent off for an altercation. The referee's control of the game became even less when in the 107th Minute, a counter attack from the Cape Aurians led to a beautiful strike from Mohammed Said. The two teams clashed again, with the referee being forced to dish out a total of six yellow cards and a further three warnings. The rest of the game was a tense affair, with even the opposing fans jeering at each other in the stands as the Trivians desperately tried to score.

Milintica vs Assamland
The Assamlandians managed to demolish the Millinticans in a 3-0 victory at the Sherfield Central Stadium. The action too off quickly, with the Assamlandians beginning to pummel the Milintican defence within mere seconds of the game's start. In the third Minute, Assamlandian Target Man, Marten Nijland, managed to latch onto a delightful threaded through pass but his effort went just wide from the target. The deadlock was broken soon though by the Assamlandians, when a foul by Tlacampan was penalized with a free-kick for the Assamlandians. Henk-jan van’t Oude stood thirty yards out from the goal, hovering around the ball. The referee blew his whistle and he unleashed a lightning strike of a shot. The keeper stood rooted in his spot as he watched the ball rocket into the top right corner of the net. The Assamlandians continued to dominate the game, with the Milintican defence working hard to shield their keeper from the onslaught. Sadly though, another goal was scored a mere ten minutes later when Marten Nijland latched onto a ball from Henk-jan van’t Oude to direct a header goal-wards, the keeper only managing to get his fingertips on it as it went in.

The Second-half saw more domination for the Assamlandians and more humiliation. Even the crowd got into chanting about the humiliating performance, with the commentators commenting that the Milintican team celebrated too hard when they proceeded from the group stage, unlike the relatively calm and disciplined Assamlandians. In the 78th Minute a beautiful run of play from Marten Nijland and Henk-jan van’t Oude saw the keeper being forced to come off his line, only to be lobbed by Nijland, the ball rolling into the net while the two wheeled away in celebration. The Assamlandians had broken the Milinticans, with three beautiful goals being scored. The rest of the game saw the Assamlandians sit deep and maintain their clean sheet.
