Climate change rallies take place around country

As part of a series of climate change protests occurring in multiple countries, the Green Party of Milintica hosted the Lauchenoirian environmentalist group Watchdogs of Our Earth in simultaneous rallies occurring in several cities around the Democratic Republic today. Events were staged in the capital Huānoch, as well as the cities of Wairarapa, Utlamec, Ōmaru and Kōputaroa. Events included speeches, musical performances, and demonstrations of eco-friendly practices and technologies.

"We are honored to host the activists of WOE and join them in the fight to save our environment and mitigate the harmful effects of climate change," Kahutea Tahana, chairwoman of the Environmental Committee of the GPM, said. "As a country that includes several small islands that are endangered by rising sea levels, Milintica is keenly aware of the importance of this fight, and will not only join other countries to ensure change around the world, but will take steps to do better here as well."

The Milintican government adopted a series of measures to increase sustainable and eco-friendly development, as well as environmental protection and renewal, in 2018. However, the limited budget of the Milintican government, coupled with the extreme poverty in many parts of the country, has made reaching the high goals of the 2018 program difficult. President Matōchmizalo has pledged to redouble the nation's efforts to meet the program goals.
