GAME WEEK 2 RESULTS

Group A
Cape Auria vs Lauchenoiria
The Cape Aurians have continued to impress, with a hard fought 0-0 draw with the Lauchenoirians at the Mara X Arena. The action started almost immediately with Lauchenoiria's Adrií Mendoza dribbling through the Cape Aurian Midfield and unleashing a forty yard screamer that the Cape Aurian Shot Stopper managed to parry onto the crossbar. The Lauchenoirians dominated the midfield, with chance after chance being created by the Lauchenoirians. Astonishingly, by the 35th minute, the Cape Aurians only had around 27% of total possession. In the 44th minute, capitalizing on a wasted corner, the Cape Aurians burst forward in an almost devastating counter attack, almost demolishing the Lauchenoirian defence but thanks to a last gasp tackle by Joey Gorbold, the Lauchenoirian defence managed to keep its clean sheet.

The second half saw a change in tactics by the Cape Aurians, with the side capitalizing on the glaring Lauchenoirian defensive woes. In the 59th minute, Adam Deschamps lined up to take a free-kick at a dangerous position just outside the box. He opted to place his shot in the top left corner which was miraculously saved by the Lauchenoirian Keeper. The remainder of the game was a battle of the midfield, with neither side being able to break through, the game ending 0-0.

Serriel vs New Lusitania and the Algarves
The New Lusitanians managed to redeem themselves when they came up against the Serrielians, with the game ending in a 1-2 victory for the New Lusitanians at the Sherfield Central Stadium. The game got off to a flying start when Ivo Cavalariça controlled a floated pass in the box from Domingos Armilar, catching it on his chest flicking it higher and acrobatically converting it in the 10th minute, much to the despair of the Serrielian defence. Tensions soon emerged when Tevrat Okyar was sent off in the 32nd minute for a dangerous tackle in the box, rushing in and taking out Cavalariça, who unfortunately was stretchered off. This forced the Serrielian coach to sacrifice Khalid Burki, who was subbed off for Civan Arica.

The second half saw more chances being created by both teams, with the Lusitanians doubling their lead in the 58th minute, with Daniel Jota tapping in from close range following a low cross from André Silveira. The Serrielians however were not undeterred, with the side fighting even harder regardless of the score. In the 78th minute they brought one back, with Kalen Hegazy striking the ball from 25 yards out, blazing past the New Lusitanian shot stopper and into the top right corner. the Serrielians continued to attack for the remainder of the game but were unable to equalize.

Group B
Gonhog vs Mansilla
The Mansillan defence managed to contain the Gonhogian onslaught in a fierce 0-0 draw at LegionAir Arena. The action quickly took off in the 3rd minute, with Camillo Palmiotto conceding a free-kick by accidentally handling the ball outside the box, which was almost converted by Ashok Gronchi , who's shot rattled off the post. The Gonhogians soon went on a dominant series of attacks, with Palmiotto being forced to make breathtaking save after breathtaking save. Fans from both sides soon began to chant about the Mansillan shot stopper's prowess against the Gonhogians.

The second half was much of the same, with the Gonhogians maintaining not less than 70 percent of possession. Palmiotto continued his man-of-the-match performance, being able to perform 17 total saves at the match's end.

Millintica vs Gnejs
The Gnejsians managed to slaughter the Millinticans in a 3-0 rout at Rhodes Park. The scoring charts were soon opened by Jack Wiijk who curled a 30 yard free-kick into the top right corner. The Gnejsians soon doubled their lead minutes later with Wiijk scoring his brace with a delightful solo goal following a wasted Millintican attacking move, slotting it in the bottom left hand corner to the delight of the Gnejsian fans. The Gnejsians were about to add another goal to their tally, but a foul by Irirangi Topeora ground the move to a halt.

The second half saw Wiijk grab his hat-trick with a thumping volley from 16 yards out, following a lobbed pass from Charles Trent who managed to dribble through the Millintican midfield before dispatching the pass. The rest of the game was a series of attacks by the Gnejsians which unfortunately did not result in another goal.

Group C
Legionas vs Zerphique
The Legionites dominated the Zerphiqueans in a 2-0 victory at the Millennial Stadium. The game started off with the Zerphiqueans going on the attack in the first minute, forcing Ryan Wesntall to commit to a brilliant save, following a short range belter of a shot from Lazaro Khayyam. The Legionites were the ones to open the scoring, with Christian Kowalski slotting home following a brilliant solo run from the halfway line, taking on the entire Zerphiquean defence. The Legionites were at it again with Marcus Zervas blasting the ball from the edge of the box, rattling off the crossbar to the relief of Hugo Masamba. The Zerphiqueans got another major chance when Lazaro Khayyam latched onto a cross from Chike Folami, with the ball moving just wide from the goal.

The second half was an almost carbon-copy of the first with both teams trying their best to score. In the 50th minute, Alexander Markovic latched onto a pass from Kowalski, feinting both Zerphiquean Center-Halves and unleashing a shot from 30 yards out, just about being able to squeeze past the keeper, who managed to get a hold of it but could not keep it out. The rest of the game saw the Zerphiqueans increasing the tempo of their attacks with Khayyam scoring in the 89th minute, the oal being ruled out for an alleged handball incident just before Khayyam slotted it home.

Trive vs Eiria
The Trivians and the Eirians battled hard for a one-all draw at the King William II Stadium. The Trivians almost immediately opened the scoring charts with Markus Fedoro, as early as the fourth minute, drawing a foul from Jack Kelley following a delightful stepover to win a penalty. The target man got up to convert emphatically past Kevin Taylor from the spot. The Eirians responded well to the goal, with them immediately beginning to put on the pressure on the Trivian defense. An error from Yuri Ulianov in the 43rd minute almost handed Eiria a goal, but quick thinking from Dmitri Konev saved the experienced keeper.

The second half saw both sides joust in the middle of the pitch, with the Argonauts finally grabbing an equalizer in the 63rd minute through Declan Simmons who created a yard for himself ahead of Konev before firing past Ulianov and into the bottom corner from the edge of the penalty area, wheeling away in ecstatic celebration. The remainder of the match was slow paced, with both sides settling in for a draw

Group D
Xiomera vs Assamland
The Assamlandians continued their impressive debut in the IDUFC by managing to stave off the Huenyan Jaguars in a close and tense 0-0 draw at the Erickson Stadium. The game took off slowly, with both sides feeling each other out before the Xiomerans struck first in the 23rd minute with a quick counter attack following a wasted free-kick by the Assamlandians. The Xiomerans overwhelmed the Assamlandians, whose defense broke due to the pressure. Tonocui latched onto the end of a lobbed through ball to drive the ball towards the goal, being saved by Jeroen Zoet. The Xiomerans again struck with Matthijs de Ligt conceding a penalty in the 32nd minute. Jeroen Zoet was, though, able to parry the spot-kick by Ahuatlatl, saving his team's defence once again.

The Second half saw the Xiomerans continue their incessant attacks on the Assamlandian defence. Early on, in the 49th minute, Tlintotoa managed to head the ball into the top right corner following a corner, but the goal was disallowed by the referee due to a foul by Cochtzina in the box. The Assamlandians, soon realizing the stamina levels in the Xiomeran Midfield were deteriorating, soon ramped up their own attacks. in the 63rd, 75th and 83rd minute, the Assamlandians came close to breaking the deadlock, with bad luck, as well as heroic defending from the Xiomerans standing in their way. The game ended in a 0-0 draw.

Libertas Omnium Maximus vs Laeral
The Laeralites came out on top versus the Maximusians in a drab 0-1 victory at the King Rumius I Arena. The game was very slow paced with both teams defending well from the onset. No chances were made in the entire first half, with both teams being unable to penetrate each other's defenses. Many wild pile-driver shots were attempted though, with most of them ending up in the stands, claimed by lucky spectators.

The second half was a bit more fast paced, with both teams' defenses being worn out. The Laeralite midfield began to dominate in the early stages of the half, with the Maximusians barely being able to get a hold of the ball. The Laeralites continued to wear out the Maximusian midfield, prioritizing on passing the ball around the pitch, avoiding attack. The Maximusians, being forced to chase for the ball, began to lose morale, as well as stamina. The Laeralites, sensing the perfect chance to strike, went on all out attack, with the entire team, save for the goalkeeper and the two center halves, moving in, the Maximusian goal as the target. Quick passes dominated the move, with the ball eventually landing at the feet of Aurélien Launay at the right wing. He cut inside with his left foot, isolating his marker, allowing him free reign over the defensive line of the Maximusians. He ribbed past three other Maximusians and slotted home, much to the delight of the Laeralite fans, who erupted in wild glee at the brilliance of their man.
