President Sakzi declared on Saturday that "all vital territory" has been seized in Vulkaria. Civilian and government territories have all been secured, according to the President and military officials, and only pockets of resistance in wilderness areas and mountainous regions remain. The President praised the Coalition and Zamastanian forces for their bravery and sacrifice in the course of the now over-two month long conflict that has seen hundreds of dead coalition soldiers, thousands of dead M.L.F. fighters, and hundreds of civilians killed.
"The bravery of our men and women in uniform, as well as the hard determination and unrelenting thirst for righteousness and justice from our allies, has proven that we prevail over the fear of terror and the reign of destruction that plague us on January 2nd, and has plagued Vulkaria for much longer," the President said.
Coalition forces are expected to withdraw from Vulkaria in the coming weeks, with Zamastanian forces staying behind in contingents to assist Vulkarian forces in maintaining stability and security as the larger force retires.
282 Zamastanian soldiers have been killed since the war began on January 4th, alongside 102 Legionite, 83 Maximusian, 136 Shuellian, 79 Eirian, 89 Xiomeran, 94 Arcadian, and 7 Ruskayn soldiers. Over 1,000 Vulkarian servicemen and women have been killed, as well as at least 2,000 citizens, most of whom were killed by the M.L.F. and other insurgent groups as an attempt to deter troop movements. Since Van'a Kamoni was killed, the resistance has greatly deteriorated.
On February 27th, 2020, Zamastanian officials estimated a heavy increase of refugees from the conflict zones in Vulkaria, approximating to an upwards trend of anywhere from 60,000 to 200,000 refugees in 2020.
Several urban area engagements, especially notable in the Battle of Amden, saw massive swarms of refugees fleeing from city zones towards coalition lines for safety. The Amden incident alone saw 20,000 people escape to coalition lines.
