DOZENS EXECUTED ON WEST CHANCHAJILLAN STATE TELEVISION FOLLOWING COUP

Dozens of people were executed in the West Chanchajillan capital of Ivora on Tuesday in a stunning and horrific broadcast that was channeled live on West Chanchajillan television stations. West Chanchajillan dictator Frederick Armbar spoke against the accused perpetrators who he claims were responsible for the coup with backing from East Chanchajillan, Zamastanian, and Quetanan sources. The dictator then gave a command for the accused perpetrators to be brought out into the square in front of his palace and government offices, where for the next hour and a half, 57 people were executed live on state-run television. The methods of executions were varied, alternating between firing squads and hangings.

President Foley Sakzi condemned the executions and once again called for Frederick Armbar's resignation and removal from power, while maintaining that the Zamastanian government had no role in the coup. East Chanchajillan President Gideon Boer also condemned the executions, while at the same time denying involvement but stating support for the coup.

"We thrive for the day that we see the oppressive Western regime to fall," said Boer, "and today's show of horrific and wanton murder is another example of the oppressive evil perpetrated each and every day by Armbar and his minions."

Quentanan President António Brafeo also denied involvement, declaring additional sanctions on their maritime neighbor.

Protests erupted across West Chanchajilla following the aftermath of the coup attempt, and as the executions were broadcast, protests turned violent in some cities. According to leaked Zamastanian state department memos, there are fears that the protests will boil into more violence and armed rebellion which will turn Armbar's anger towards his citizens to even more dramatic responses. There are also concerns about more executions.

Tuesday's mass execution is the first broadcast execution fro West Chanchajilla since 1995 when assassins failed to kill the country's then-dictator Parish White.
