Xiomeran forces under supervision of Zamastanian intelligence teams made contact with and killed Malvarian Liberation Front affiliated commander Dire Sulsi in a night-time raid near the Vulkarian city of Firnstead, about twenty miles north of Godenia. Sulsi is believed to have been behind numerous terror attacks throughout the past decade, including attacks in Lauchenoiria, Zamastan, and Legionas. Sulsi also is believed to have been the mastermind of the car bombing at the Coytōchte Corporation Headquarters Complex on January 2nd.

Zamastanian intelligence located Sulsi in a compound west of Firnstead, but because of troop placement centered mostly in Vulkar and Lacarno, Zamastanian troops were not able to reach the target without a high risk of detection. In a rare show of good faith and cooperation, the information was opted to be sent to a Xiomeran contingent known as Jaguar Warriors operating in Godenia along coalition forces, according to Zamastanian authorities. A Xiomeran strike team landed near the compound and eliminated upwards of a dozen terrorists, cornered Sulsi and gave the option for his surrender. Officials say Sulsi attempted to fight back, at which point the Xiomeran forces executed a coalition approval to kill the target. Sulsi's body was transported back to a Xiomeran controlled checkpoint. One Xiomeran sustained injuries.

Empress Yauhmi announced the death of Sulsi at the Palace of Flowers in Tlālacuetztla, saying that "Jaguar Warriors have delivered justice to the man who was responsible for planning the recent terrorist attack in Huitzitaca."

President Sakzi expressed his congratulations to the Xiomeran forces in a rare statement of positive face for a nation he has been at odds with for the near entirety of his political year and already most of his two-month Presidency.

"Congratulations are in order for the Jaguar Warriors of the Xiomeran Armed Forces, who have taken provided intelligence from our intelligence agencies and have neutralized Dire Sulsi. I'm pleased to see this example of cooperation between our two nations pay off in a way that is proven to be beneficial to every party involved. Every party, except the M.L.F., of course."

Xiomeran troops are operating in relatively small numbers in Vulkaria, and they have been since the end of the Second War in Vulkaria (2005) as training forces and arms suppliers at the request of the Vulkarian government. Zamastan has historically pressured the Vulkarian government to allow more Zamastanian training in exchange for lessened Xiomeran influence, but Xiomera has been able to maintain its small presence in the country.

Conspiracy theorists in Zamastan and in several nations where people are less than excitable about Xiomera's international influence have tried to paint a picture of their involvement throughout the years in Vulkaria as an attempt to breach into their politics directly and manipulate legislation or executive actions. Despite Sakzi's harsh narratives surrounding Xiomera in the crises in the South Xiomera Sea and around the XIN Journalists who sought asylum in Zamastan, the President has stayed mostly reserved in suggestions of tampering in elections, saying that it is "preposterous to think that Xiomerans would want to manipulate opinion politically in a nation so staunchly reliant on Zamastan and Cadair for protection."
