"This would be the last time that Bayview would host a foreign leader, the end of an era and the beginning of a new one." King Alexander II thought as he watched the Empress' plane land at the brand new Bayview International Airport. Dressed in his full regalia, King Alexander wondered whether it would be his last time hosting a foreign monarch. He knew that he was nearing the end, but he was at peace knowing that his son, Prince Paul, would steer the Nation as an honourable King.
He watched Empress Yahumi disembark from the plane and walk towards the platform prepared for her, smiling from ear to ear. This was not the first time they'd met,they were good friends for a long time, about forty years in fact. Monarchs were rare in the region and they were the last indication of the older generation about to step down in favour of the younger and more savvy youth.
"It's been a long time, Empress Yahumi. Welcome to Legionas." King Alexander said while receiving the Empress' hand. "I'm sure you will enjoy your stay here." Empress Yahumi allowed her hand to be embraced and the two walked side by side towards the Royal Limousine 'The Verdesian Chariot'. The media could be seen on each side of the red carpet, taking as many pictures as possible while brawling with security who had deemed their presence a nuisance.
The Monarchs entered the vehicle and the motorcade sped away to the Bayview Capitol building where Empress Yahumi would address the public and watch a military parade in her honour. In the limo, the two monarchs got comfortable and talked at length on various subjects touching on their nations, the situation in the South Xiomeran Sea, their families and more. The City of Bayview could be seen outside in its full spectacle, ready to host a world leader for the last time. Local law enforcement kept the roads empty and a large crowds flocked to the streets to see for themselves the Empress and the King.
"King Alexander thank you for inviting me to Legionas, especially this time of year when the Bayview skyline is as beautiful as ever. It is a shame though that this historic city has been replaced, but I'm sure Aunistria is even more spectacular." Empress Yahumi said, while watching the buildings fall behind them as they sped towards the capitol building.
The Capitol building was prepared for the visit, the flags of Legionas and Xiomera flew in the wind together as a sign of continued cooperation together and the distant rumbling of jet engines could be heard, an indication that everything and everyone was prepped and ready for what was to occur next. The two monarchs took their seats at the Leader's section and the military parade began. Infantrymen, tanks, AFV's, self propelled artillery and more processed in front of the crowd showing Legionas' military might, the King's guard fully adorned in their ceremonial dress rode on horseback brandishing swords and modern rifles, the Legionas Air Force's 1st squadron flew overhead, the lead planes flying the flags of Legionas and Xiomera in tandem, the sound of the jets leaving the crowd in awe. After the parade, the anthems of the two nations were played and finally King Alexander stood and officially thanked the Empress for visiting Legionas and hoped that continued cooperation between the two countries would continue into the next decade stronger than ever. He then invited her to say a few words...
