A coldness had rapidly descended over the heart of the Empire. Quickly chilling the Celestial Palace to its bones. It wasn't unusual at this time of the year to have nights this bone-chillingly cold. But it had come unusually rapidly. A superstitious person might even suggest it was a bad sign.

Won found himself pushing open the large oak doors of the Imperial Chambers. He was carrying thick cotton blankets under his right arm as he headed to the bedchamber.

Silently he walked over to the bed, expecting too soon hear the silent rhythmic breathing of the Empress

But to his shock, there was only silence. He had served this woman for decades and he had never heard her sleep so silently. As he stood at the foot of the bed he set down the heavy blankets.

" my Empress?"

No response. The quiet that had come over the bed Chambers continues. Nervousness and dread soon began to fill the old man's mind. He took a step upward reaching onto the bed until he felt the outline shape of the empress.

"Empress? Empress Wu? Zhou? Zhou!?"

He finally found his way up to her shoulders. He reached up to her neck. It was cold. And there was no pulse.

" oh, no…oh gods in heaven no...not now..."

The old man burst into a flurry of energy. Running towards the door almost colliding with the walls as he ran into the hallway

" Help! HELP! The empress is dead!"
